I was very stupidly arguing with a Bush supporter (I say it was stupid because a rabid Bush supporter has nothing interesting to say) about the missing WMD's when she said "Even if they never find them, I know they were there!" Of course, I had nothing to say after such an incredibly boneheaded statement.
Yet here it is again. Oh, so the WMD's were smuggled into Syria by whom and how? Smuggled across the border in spite of an intensely watched border during the occupation.
Conspiracy theorists create these wildly complex scenarios that never make sense but they hang onto them with a passion and love reserved for teenagers.
Yes, Syria made some and bought some. Assad didn't have to go through a dangerous and politically risky secret agent style smuggling operation and store those dangerous chemicals for 10 years just in case he needed them. When things heated up a few years ago, the manufacture of those chemicals was easy, especially for a country with access to oil processing tech.
