Oasis Horticubes rock!

I haven't seen many postings about Oasis horticubes so I thought I'd show some pics of 3 seedling plants that I just planted in them 3 days ago. I germinated the seeds directly in the cubes. I bought the seeds from Attitude and the strains are Wonder Woman (Nirvana Seedbank), Skunk #1 (G-13 Labs), and LA Woman (DNA Genetics). The Skunk and LA Woman were freebies.

Now I admit that I've only used Rockwool besides these Oasis cubes so I can't really say if they are better than other mediums. I was at my local hydro store to buy some more Rockwool cubes and saw these sitting on the counter. The salesman said he's had much better results with Oasis and most everyone who has tried them have sworn off Rockwool forever.

With the Oasis cubes you don't have to pre-soak. In fact, I set the dry cubes inside the hydroton like you see in the pics. I opened up the holes a little more since I was putting seeds in and not clones. I lightly pinched the holes shut with my fingertips and then poured straight tap water over them. The ph level from my tap is around 6.8 so I'll add ph down to the DWC reservoir once the roots start to touch the water. Now I haven't watered the cubes since the day I put the seeds in. Oasis cubes hold like 30x their weight in water yet they don't oversaturate.

I also have 3 LSD mothers from Barney's Farm vegging in another closet. I cut 22 clones, dipped them in rooting hormone and within 10 days all 22 had roots showing through the bottom of the cubes.

Here's a link to where you can buy them if they don't carry them in your area...

I just picked up a sheet of preformed oasis and a tray for them from a local garden center. They don't normally sell them retail but if you ask, like I did, they will likely sell them to you. I paid $6 for a sheet for 60 and the tray they are formed to fit. I'll let you know how it goes.

I just tried a couple blocks on some dirt seeds the see how I liked. Only worry I have is one of the seeds tap root came out at a 45 degree angle pointing to the sky. Any ideas on how to ensure that wont happen and ill love them.
