Blue dom maybe not but ive bought tons of outdoor blue d in november in ottawa.. Blue hell yeaah bud first week of October (frost was like mid november that year tho)... But tons of people grow it its their go-to outdoor strain.. By Mr. Blue they sell em at a head shop in Ottawa.
Never knew Mr.Blues finished in time, Ill have to hit up crosstown sometime haha
Was thinking you must have been a o-town guy to know of the dom... I fuckin love that stuff when it comes around

Blue dom was one of my favorite smokes, other than it smelling/tasting piney I dont see much of a diff with the smoke of it and blue dream to be honest.
Mr B has a lot that finish around the first week of october.. The best ive seen are the blue skunk and blackberry.. the skunk #1 was done last week of september i believe. Ive seen some gardens in the surrounding areas of the city with straight mr blue lineups lol he was always a very reliable easy to grow stable kinda breeder, notvery much potency compared to other hybrids these days but gets the job done in a really shitty climate.
They also have discounted outdoor varities in limited quantity at crosstown i picked up a pack of m17 x durban two winters ago and it was done mid august the next year lol.
USTAD is another good seed co to look for at crosstown. They have lots of herijuana crosses, i grew some pre98 bubba x heri outdoors from them that same summer and just like the guy said it was smooth sailing late september harvest but extremely potent with a little kushiness in the smell/taste/after burn smell that makes people in the great white north call it organic AAA PK or some shit if they were to sell it lol.
If you go monday thru thursday to crosstown the original one the right guy should be working who can tell you anything about mr blue or ustad. Hes super chill if you havent already met the guy.
It always great to see people growing their own up north. Its hard to get a steady supply of top shelf out east, people order it on the internet now and pay crazy ass prices just to get some bc quality.

subbing here for the great feedback, a NY grower that hasn't grown outside in a long time, been doing the inside grows for a while
and as someone else mentioned, the fall weather here is usually a killer, mold magnet for sure
maybe we'll breed the ultimate NY strain here, hold a positive thought

I can't say I've ever had blue dream but the dom is one of those distinct local strains that no one talks bad about haha
Not to sound corny here but I remember back when I first started smoking picking up my first que of dom, which I got as a solid crystaly nug, it changed my opinion on tree completley and led to me growing. Ill definetly check out crosstown during the week... I like the idea of getting local seed when its availiable just never knew much about mrblues gear.
Good to see another local guy on here too, goodluck this season

HELP!!! OK SO I HAVE BEEN GROWING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW WITH MINIMAL SUCCESS AND I NEED SOME HELP, I GROW OUTDOORS IN NY STATE AND THE LAST FEW SEASONS I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT STRAINS AND SOME O.K. BUT NO WHERE NEAR THE SUCCESS I WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE , I GREW A FEW KUSH STRAINS, A FEW HEADBANDS, SOME NL , GDP, ALL HAVE BEEN POOR WITH THE OUTDOOR CONDITIONS OF NY WEATHER , AND I USUALLY GET MOLD :( I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH PESTS AND SOIL/NUTES ,MY ONLY PROBLEM IS CHOOSING WHICH STRAIN OR STRAINS ARE BEST FOR WHAT I WANT AND WHERE I WANT TO GROW , I HAVE READ AN ABUNDANCE OF FORUMS AND WHAT NOT BUT ITS TOO MUCH THIS AND THAT TOO PUT INTO ONE BIG PICTURE ON THE SELECTION OF STRAIN FOR MY SITUATION AND I COULD USE "EXPERT" HELP PLEASE ! SO HERE ARE THE DETAILS : I WILL BE IN THE GROUND, DUG OUT HOLES WITH OCEANIC TO START , OUT IN THE WOODS WHERE THE PESTS CAN GET PESKY , MY PATCH WILL GET LOTS OF SUN , I JUST NEED A STRAIN THAT WILL NEVER MOLD AND IS A GREAT HEAVY YIELD WITH POTENT FLOWERS AND EASY TO GROW ,I AM A GREAT GROWER BUT IM LOOKING FOR LOW MAINT PLANTS BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO RISK ROBBERY AGAIN BY GOING THERE OFTEN !!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT POST WHAT WEBSITES SAY ABOUT STRAINS BECAUSE I HAVE TRIED SOME STRAINS THAT SAY THEY WONT MOLD AND THEY HAVE , EVEN OUT IN THE OPEN WIND WITH LITTLE RAIN THEY HAVE MOLDED . PEOPLE WITH PERSONAL NY GROWING EXPERIENCE WITH REPEAT RESULTS WOULD HELP ME A TON , SOME PLANTS HAVE DIFFERENT PHENOS AND SOME MOLD SOME DONT , SO IF YOU GUYS COULD HELP ME FIND MY STRAIN TO START MY GROW AND NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AGAIN I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT , I HAVE BOUGHT STRAINS YEAR AFTER YEAR THAT PEOPLE SUGGESTED AND WEBSITES ADVERTISED AS GOOD YIELD/PEST RESISTANT AND IT HAS BEEN A WASTE OF MY $$$ YEAR IN AND OUT SO IM TURNING TO YOU FOR HELP .... :leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf: P.S.I WAS THINKING OF TRYING DINAFEMS BLUE HASH AND HOMEGROWN FANTASEEDS ARMAGEDDON THIS SEASON BECAUSE I READ THEY BOTH ARE WHAT IM LOOKING FOR BUT I WOULD LIKE SOME EXPERT OPINIONS BEFORE I WASTE MORE OF MY $$$ TRYING AND FAILING AGAIN :(
wed sites give the best info they can for where the strains are bred. cal and over seas. most areas are deserts. ny is not. your going to have to learn how to not get mold and learn where mold comes from to stop it.... in the north east your going to get it. i grow the church and swiss chesse. i have a few areas i dont ever get mold. there no soil is all gravel and sand. there some areas i get my plants up off the ground 2 feet to stop the mold. some area the molds is in the soil and you cant stop it. it goes threw the roots and get the plants that way. there all kinds of mold. it has taken me 15 yrs to become good at it here in the north east.. also green sand helps the plant fight mold along with wood ash and sea weed. silca is your freind

as far as finishing time, lots can finish in our area, we can push it to the end of october, cant really give you info on mold resistant strains, i just eye them down when the conditions are right for mold and go through with my scissors and cut it all out

Hey where about do you live, have you ever tried the n.l.b outdoor and how did it perform ? yield wise and finish time? I just checked it out and it seems pretty interesting.
look under outdoor growing ,then under Delicious Northern Light Blue on page 4 at bottom of page

I know this is a late post but you may want to try one of these guys! The last outdoor grow I did was 5 years ago and it was bc big bud and skunk1 with only a couple of buds affected. Also a lot of guys here grow northern lights. BTW just north of the NY border! Had a total of 65 plants, half BB, half Sk1. Harvest time here is usually mid to late sept, after that she'll mold!!! and not from the ground up lol. And even then if its wet you have to watch and cut off the mouldy ones that are just starting. A long time ago I was growing BlueBerry which is notorius for mold re: the tight buds but large crops would yield about 10% mould at best more again if it was wet. If doing it again I would choose a (they must have lol) large producing auto that was still potent just to get through the down time before first indoor grow which is ready for me around Nov due to heat. I am looking for one now FYI so if anyone knows of a good outdoor candidate let me know.

you should check out world of seeds auto pakistan ryder or auto afghan kush.. both 20%+ thc.. they would finish in around 10 weeks from seed. you can harvest autos as early as july depending on when you plant.. an august harvest will probably get you the best yield.. plant in may harvest around first week of august.

im doing a seed run on four female snowryders for a summer guerilla grow right now, and also have some Russian rocket fuel seeds both from short stuff seeds. Im liking the idea of an early harvest to avoid thieves. was thinking of a staggered harvest to make up for small yields and wondered if anybody else has tried this with autos or not. upper Midwest u.s.

All I need is one harvest lol I should run out around end of august depending on the Critical that is 40 days from finish :). I have heard some good things re: the Iran auto. Water is a big concern if it is as dry as last summer :(. An early harvest will help in that regard as August is typaically the driest month here.

Thanks a lot for the feedback , I was doing some research and im looking at some Iranian auto OG from the doc , also might try the autos like easy rider , auto ak , maybe MI5 and or ONYX , i really wanted to do normal strains that produce BIG but seriously speaking i have had terrible results with the weather conditions always against me and my patch isnt close enough to get to very often but i do care for my babies the best i can , im just very tired of loosing and this season i want to WIN and WIN BIG ... all info is GREATLY appreciated and welcome. Peaceanickchick Soil is not too wet , first grow i made that mistake years ago and since have well dug holes with perlite and builders sand soild mixture , drains very well .. i think the last run i just used strains that werent meant to produce , i got the BEANS free from a friend and the smoke was SUPERB AND OUTTA THIS WORLD , JUST DIDNT WEIGH UP WELL AT ALL , LIKE 1/2 OZ PER LADY ... that is sad considering the $$$ and time i had invested , this time i want the GENETICS , and The Recipe for success in my area so HOMEWORK is a MUST , ha ha
I dont think Iranian OG is a auto but an early finisher. I'm stoked on doing Iranian Diesel this summer. not auto either but supposed to be done August or September

Little late adding my two cents here, but I would also recommend the NLB. I grew it last year and it was a real strong producer. Beautiful plant when compared to the others I did... I live a little south of Syracuse (like 10 minutes) and had a mother NLB and some clones from it that all finished before October. There was a little mold to deal with but overall it was not too bad. Dense nugs, good smell, good taste, and good looks when manicured. I was in a similar position last year and ended up going with a few Jack Herers, the NLB and her clones, and a couple AK-48s. The jack was way to late of a finisher, so that got turned into mostly hash. The AK seemed like a good breed, kinda, it developed a good bud structure but never really got too dense. Looked like it would produce some weight but never really did... Go with the NLB.

Hey dooby. I know how it feels to have mold destroy whole crops, believe it or not there are ways to get around that, many options. You can either prevent the mold by getting Serenade which contains a beneficial bacteria that eats mold spores, trust me or if you already have a mold problem you might wanna combine Serenade wit Ed Rosenthals Zero Tolerance and youll have yourself the ultimate mold killer. Theyre both organic and can be used up to the day of harvest. Now, if you want a strain that is mold resistant you might wanna check out Ace's Panama...heard it loves the rain and yields pretty good for a sativa, the down side is that it finishes at about 10 - 12 weeks. Ace seeds also has Bangi Haze and Nepalese Jamaica which are mold resistance and finish early for sats. Or, you can try autoflowering strains just make sure to start them early in the season.GL with the moldy buds.
