Whatever you would give a plant in veg to keep it healthy, should also work for moms.
Fwiw, I keep a few moms in 4-inch square pots of regular potting soil with a bit of worm castings, and feed a mix of Alaska 5-1-1 fish fert and some liquid seaweed thing, at half strength, every 2-3 weeks.
I only really need clones once or twice a year, but I still trim back the above ground parts every few weeks. Pretty severely, like cutting all branches back to the lowest one or two nodes. Then every 6-9 months I pull them out of the pots, cut 1/2" off all sides of the root ball, and re-plant in fresh medium. I think keeping them trimmed both above and below ground helps keep them fresh and healthy as well
