Nutrient water...

How long after I mix up a batch of nutrient water can I use it? My babies are about a week old in soil. So the nutrients aren't mixed up to full strength yet. I just don't know after 4-5 days if I can still use the gallon I mixed already..

The recommend usage time is 12-24 hours. After that, some chemicals begin diluting with the water and become poisonous (to the plant) or loose their effect.

I use my ferts mixed within 3 hours then chuck it out.

You might as well dump that mix of nutes unless you want to stunt or kill your seedlings.
Seedlings do not need any nutes for quite a while.
Do you see those two little round leaves on the bottom of the seedling.
Those provide enough food and nutrients until they start to develop bigger leaves.
Imo do not give them any nutes until those two little round leaves start turning yellow and they have at least two sets of leaves.
Then you can start giving them very diluted nutes, increasing the strength as they grow.
Hope this helps.
Adjust the strength of your nutes to how much your plants ask for.
They will let you know if you are feeding them too much or not enough.
Good luck with your grow
Peace

wrong advice there buddy.
Where did you hear that nutes become poisinous?
I never heard that and have never had a problem with my nutes.
I always mix a gallon at a time so my nutes may sit for a few days.

The little round leafs are yellow and dying off. The second set of little leafs are already growing. The nutrient mix called for 5 ml and I only used 1ml. But I will dump out what I didn't use already. Next time around I will do 3ml/gal.

well, since your little seedlings still have a ways to go before you use nutes for them then I wouldn't let those premixed nutes sit for that long since they break down over time and are not as effective.
Big bud 56.... How many days would you still use your premixed nutrient water?

I know my shit thank you.

The nutrients that have been sitting in the water for a prolonged period will go stale and begin to produce micro organisms as they will feed on the nutrients themselves. This bacteria will be put into the plants and cause a number of issues. Root rot, nute lockup and heaps of other things. This is only 1 possibility. Nutrient embedded water is like a heaven to Bacteria and micro organisms - this is only if the water is left for a pro-longed period. 24 hours is the standard rule of thumb.

This in a sense, make the water poisonous to the plant or plants as you're putting bacteria and potentially deadly organisms inside your babies.

Sorry,I didn't see that last post that the seedlings are mature enough for nutes.
Yes,go ahead and flush then and dilute the nutes.
Peace

You can keep a nutrient solution for weeks if suitably stored. It might vary from one brand to the next, but just look at autopots as an example. You fill your pots with soil, fill up the res with water and nutes, and leave it for a week or two. The plants do just fine.

Yeah dude,If you're using organics then you do need to use then within 24 hours.
Just mix up the amount you're going to use.
In your case I would just use a diluted mix and feed them lightly.

To be more specific a bit, in using roots organic line up of nutrients, in tga bagged base soil. I'm also gonna be doing a side by side comparison of that and tga super soil. Be interesting to see..for me atleast.. I just wanna see difference of using nutrients and super soil. If any difference.

Will do sir. Doing 2 with nutrients, then 2 in super soil. 600 watt mh/hps, right now there still under a t5. 4x4 tent in 5gal smart pots, only on 1 gal currently. All grand daddy purp, by kens. Seeds I made myself, this last grow outdoor grow 1 of my plants ended up being male so busted the nuts on a female plant. Hopefully I get some badass phenos, and all female purp purps.
