Nutrient Film Setup w/ pics???

Here is a hydro setup i put together myself with supplies from home depot. I need to know if the gutter is large enough to support the roots of my plants. I plan on growing them in my closet with a 400w HPS. Will the gutters be enough or do i need something bigger?

So should i get vinyl fence posts to accomidate for the roots or just go to a different DIY setup like bubbleponics?

The 8 inch square fence post work well. Use a dremel rotary tool to make holes.
