Nutrient deficiency?

Hi all,

Hopi g you might be able to give me some advice on my plant! I started off feeding biobizz nutrients at quarter of the recommended dose and as the plants seemed to handle this upped it to 1/2 and then full dose. After the full feed I noticed what I thought was signs of nutrient burn, tips had burned slightly and turning yellow and so I watered them without nutrients for 2 weeks. I’ve been watering nutrients again at half does for a week now and the plant seems to still be getting worse.

Any thoughts or ideas would be great!

Watering about 2 times a week, but I’ve been checking to make sure the top inch or so is dry before watering. PH has been between 6.6 and 6.8 for each water and started them out in root pouches with biobizz lightmix

What size pots are they in? They are potted in the light mix? Watering two times a week indicates they are saturated for a long period, perhaps the pot is too large for the plant? This could cause pythium (root rot).

They are in 16 liter pots. I have been making sure the top of the soil is dry before watering, could this still be an issue?
I haven’t checked the PH of runoff or anything like that, I figured feeding with the correct PH level should do the trick.

Just because the top inch is dry doesn't mean there isn't a ton of water deeper down. If the pot is heavy don't water. Of it feels light water. I picked up that much at least from this forum.

Trick is you need to let it dry out completely between waterings (but not too much to cause them stress of being underwatered!) and also every watering or feeding you must have some regular runoff. This “easy” watering practice is crucial to keep your roots satisfied and prevents from other deseases and pests. Ren is right about the pot, when your pot needs more than 2-3 days to dry out, than your plant is not drinking enough in compare to pots size and you need to give her more time. No drama, just be patient with watering and you will probably need to feed less frequent also, but still can go like that. Another thing is pH... you are worring about pH going in as well as soil actual pH all the time!!! If you do not have soil pH pen than your runoff gives you clue about what is happening there. You are watching both values pH and EC and comparing to the values you are giving in.
