Nutrient Burn using Supersoil! Need advice on course of action.....

Hey y'all, just had a quick question that I was hoping someone could give me some guidance on...... I am midway through week 5 of flower on my first supersoil run and some of my plants are showing some pretty serious nute burn on the fan leaves. I am running 3 strains(sputnik, SSH, turtle power) and all but the turtle power are showing the burn. The buds are all looking really good, however the leaves are looking like shit(sorry, no pics right now im on vacation). I'm using 7 gallon pots for most of the girls, and a couple of 10 gallon pots. I used subcool's SS recipe and only used what I felt like was a conservative amount(~1/3 in the bottom) and roots soil. The girls were all veged for a couple of months so they were definitely big and healthy before going into the SS pots. It is possible due to lower night temps that the SS didn't fully cook, even though it had 5-6 weeks before getting used. So now that I am so close to finishing this flower run, I feel a bit unsettled about what to do with these plants as the nute burn doesn't seem to be getting any better.

My question is: is there anything that I can do at this point to cool down my mix? I am open to all suggestions here as I have no experience in growing in hot soil like this. Obviously my mix is too hot for the SSH and sputnik, but the turtle powers(sativas) seem to be loving it and doing great. Should I wait i just wait this grow out without taking any drastic actions? Is there anything else I can supplement with to help the plants deal with the hot mix? Also, I have heard that attempting to flush out hot soil can backfire and end up releasing MORE nutes and really burning the plants, is this true? Yeah, so basically if anyone has any experience with this kind of situation, i would really appreciate some advice. My gut is telling me just to wait it out, but I would totally be down with drastic action if it will help to. I just don't want to ruin my crop obviously. Anyways, thanks for reading this far and TIA for any comments.... stay irie!

Well if you can give them a good watering and allow runoff out the bottom of your pot you should wash away some nutrients that are in the soil , other than that your only other option would be to transplant and you probably won't want to do that. Give them alot of water and let them dry out and repeat.

Maybe you didn't have enough supersoil in the pots, your SSH is a 10 to 12 week finisher and you are only at week 5. It is possible that the SSH needs more food. aand same with the sputnik. Now the turtle power sounds like some slow growing indica kush plant and that could be why it is not effecting that one because it is growing slower . I am thinking you are out of food and not burning.IMO

How to the top of your plants look? Are the leaves dying from the bottom up? Or all over simultaneously?

In the center of my pots i have a lil straight potting soil so i cant fry my babies
Around the edges i use the hotter soil.

I believe all you can do is transplant her.....

Most of the new growth and tops of the plants look healthy, however a couple of the plants are starting to look crispy and burned on all the top leaves too. And yes, the leaves are dying from the bottom up.....

Also the turtle powers are a slower growing more pure sativa strain, and they too are starting to show some yellowing around edges of the lower leaves and it's moving up. Also a lil' bit of crispy leaf edge beginning on the the turtle powers too. Now it is possible that these are deficiences, but my gut says burn as i really wonder if the supersoil properly cooked....still undecided on course of action, going to try calmag and see if it is a ph thing causing lockout..... thanks for the reply jgould!

I did pot my babies the same way that you are describing. I used the SS on the bottom and a little up on sides, threw some reg soil top of that and mixed just a little and then put reg soil in the rest of the space....

I think they may be starving for some nutes, sounds like you didn't have enough ss to finish and ss would have burned it long before now if it was going to burn.

If you have any supersoil leftover...take 3 heaping tablespoons of it,and two tablespoons of unsulfered organic black strap molasses. With one gallon of water and let it sit for a day or 2. And use that to feed your plants. Your plants need food and this way you can feed them and keep it organic at the same time.

Stop adding molasses around 2 weeks before harvest. But continue with the supersoil and water all the way to the end.

this is interesting. I have only grown about 6 plants from start to finish and in different ways, still not sure what i am doing. have been working organics and want to stay with it but last go around was a WWauto and I think I actually got too hot with teas trying to fix what i thought was a deficiency. My lux was good I think about 50-60k, but that deficiency was burn... i think... reason being I harvested some tall colas that were ready early , top leaves were brown and crispy that started with spotting and yellowing...and the underneath was lush and green, I backed off everything, raised light, a bit and let it go and was all good in a week. Does this make sense?

the other, a lsdauto, was pale green and flowering quick I darkened the leaves a bit with a good feed of tea (boogie brew), some NPK bloom and kelp foliar and it greened up and the buds then took off and it started the same thing after a couple weeks too, brown spots, yellowing, some downright crispy ... deficiency or burn--idk.... I went with burn cuz the browning and dying leaves wasnt too bad and I didnt want to over do it.....especially with everything that was its neighbors problem...both under separate 1k spiders.... i was using full strength teas twice a week in FFOF and wormcastings. I dont know but autos, and lux, and deficiency vs burns seem tricky...

so it seems one plant was overfed, and the other didnt get enough, they were treated the same, same soil, RO water, ph, food, environment..... and the results were pretty decent imo..did what its supposed to do

any tips on this burn vs deficiency because they can look EXACTLY ALIKE... is always helpful from experienced growers.

as in my previous thread, how or what are some tips in knowing difference between burn from nutes vs starving when in many cases they present the same
