Nutes/Plant foods?

Hey, I'm working on my first grow and I was just wondering about nutes or plant foods. I found "flower food" that came with some flowers to put in a vase. Would this stuff work? And do I just put it in a spray bottle with water? Also, I found some MG Pant Food 24-16-8 (not sure what that means but I know it has some significance). Should I use these? If so, how much and how often? The more descriptive, the better since I am a complete newb.

go to the faq and read. read,read. You got a ways to go before your ready to plant anything.

I'll tell ya what I use, Black gold coco blend, seedling soil, alaska fish
fret both veg and bloom and lime. Stay away form chem nutes if you can. don't use the flower pot stuff. If you have to use the mg start at 1/4 mix of full dose. give nutes every 3 waterings. hope that helps a little.
