nurturelite super 600w wiring?

Can anyone help me here?
I ordered a nurturelite super 600w and e40 lampholder last week. They came today, whilst taking out my exsisting bulb (
nurturelite 125w Self Ballast). It smashed, not a distaster i thought.
I put my new bulb into the set up, but it wouldnt fire.
So i wired up the E40 lampholder, (which looked pretty simple), but nothing seemed to get the new bulb to fire. My babys have had no light now for 5 hurs and Im stressing pretty much. I put a few lamps in there but i need to get this light going. Can any body offer me any advice as to what i need to be doing? Thanks

sounds like a bad bulb. do u have any way of firing up the bulb with a diffrent ballast..

cant be I ordered 3, none of them work. Am i right in thinking that i just wire the lame holder up to the mains? Am getting confused now reading online about electronic timers, don't know if i need one of those. The site where i got the bulbs from makes no mention they operate any differently ( and dont supply electronic timers. If it wasnt that my babies are not getting what they need i'd leave it till monday when they repen, but i dont have that liberty.

3 wires right one white, one black, and one green.

thanks for advice my girls, i am in uk so different colours.

Managed to put together some extra stuff, smahed up a lamp for fitting, might have a bit of explaining where fish tank floresent has gone, but hey ho. Overall got 2 x 125w bulbs, 9 " flouresent, and a 60w bulb, so not as stressed that might loose, my babies. Never thought growing could be so stressful. TBH wish they where ready, could really do with a smoke now.

If any body picks up on this later, would still appreciate any tips/pointers to get these super 600 going.

Found out I needed a seperate ballast to get this 600w bulb to operate. Manaaged to source one and pick it up today. OMG they generate some pretty immense heat, put my 3 girls who are 5 weeks old now (lowryder). The leaves have curled a little, so i am going to have to look into ways to keep the temp down. Now the suns in my cupboard. Seem to have been lots of views to this this thread, and when i google wiring a 600w super, this thread comes up top of the ratings. When i get time might put together a spec with some advice on how to wire up such lighting cause it wasnt fun panicing on friday. But todays sunday, and different set of probs. I'll be glad when ive got my first grow over, and can compound all ive learnt & read for my next grow. ( 6 lowryder seedlings and 2 thai just sproting now)

Just further posting to say these bulbs are very very hot. I installed it, had a brew, and updated this post. Went back to install a fan to keep temp down and my 3 girls were dryed to a crisp. No joke, posted a few pics for people to see. I of course have turned off the light, probably lucky not to have burned the house down. I think i wont see any more growth, and might as well dry what there, but in case it worth a try ive put them back where they where under the spec above. Im still learning, gutted...at least i m smiling. stay well
