very nice nugs, I've been enjoying your 2nd pheno of vortex lately. One bowl and I'm cooked, really nice heady high, and that fruity mango peachy smell and taste already. popping the rest of the beans to see if i can find that dense peppery pheno.
oh yeah, you forgot a good one.

taming the beast........

this is the three mained D-train at 9 days bloom.....i have always been aggressive when it comes to pruning the understories of my plants, esp. now that i started juicing raw canna for my health.........i have begun pruning much earlier now that i jones for fresh canna juice......but 8-10 days is about the earliest i want to go, i don't want mess with the hormones necessary for bud set......but once the buds start forming flowers pretty good, i hack away.....sub has said that main-lining was throwing him a bit as far as having enough options for grabing a clone off the young main-lined plant........this is one of the reasons i prefer working with plants from seed....because when you make the initial pinch for two on a seed plant you can leave the two clones on the node beneath, and remove them when they are the perfect size for an easily rootable clones.........seed plants are a dream compared to working this method with colones.......but it just takes a bit more finesse...
.......so, say you main-line a clone to have three mains, with say three branches each for a total of 9........you generally have to take the least dominate branch as a clone, thus ending up with eight heads.....now this is just with smaller plants....if you want to veg them a bit larger, you will have a few more options, as there will always be one or three you can trim out for clones.....

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind elaborating on this Nugbuckets?
Usually I clean my lowers up when I move the plants from my veg room to my flower room (the day they hit 12/12) just as a matter of convenience but are you saying that it is important to wait until budset to go crazy with pruning lowers? My apology if this is a question that has already been covered. Much appreciation for any answer and for your time in doing this thread!

i wouldn't do that bro....the hormones responsible for bud initiation, are the oldest (lowest) leaves......i would leave them on, then prune after bud-set....

Thanks for the reply. I am cringing a little to think I have been robbing my branches of the bud initiation hormones the day they enter flowering!

....finished canopy ring for under the sun....kind a a bitch, but i will build one for each of my sun plants.........20 inch dia. smartie, 24 inch dia. ring, 36 inch legs.....will run it about 20 inches above soil, 30 inches from ground....designed for 16 heads, and a plant that finishes 30-38 inches above soil....:hump:

bro, the seed vs clone thing for the method.. that was reason for having made clones the way i showed them.. once they pick up growth out of the clone stage and have close internodal spacing, just top it. thats what was done in the photos of my previous post. the thought was; GDP #2 to have the lower nodes before the topped part. train the top to mainline, while the lower nodes grow to a good cloneable size. and GDP #1; to see if theres a growth rate difference from #2 having all the fan leaves and lower nodes. i'll keep updating when noticeable differences are happening. its all to do with STRUCTURE in the plant.. not all strains are ideal for the technique

Oh man nugs, I can't wait to try juicing cannabis. In what ways do you feel it's helped you? I'm familiar with Rick Simpson's paradigm... I'm guessing it's somewhere along those lines?

Man, your plants always look so good against that weathered wood. . . Makes em sing. I like.

exactly.......it works great when you start from seed, then take the two lower cuts, while they are still symetrical, root them, then treat it like a seed plant.....the younger the cut, the better chance of it being symetrical....and that is what we are after, to build an even framework......i did this with my latest a.o.s. and now they are about to be flowered, and you can barely tell they were cuts....it looks like you did the same thing....
