NPK? is this true?

During the vegetative-growth stage,

phosphorus levels should be maintained at 1/2 that of nitrogen and potassium at 1/2-2/3 that of nitrogen. During

flowering, phosphorus takes the lead: Give nitrogen at 1/2 and potassium at 1/2-2/3 the strength of phosphorus.

Notice that potassium is consistently maintained throughout both stages at 1/2-2/3 the level of the main

nutrient. Staying close to this ratio will make sure you don't have a nutrient lock up, when unused nutrients

combine to form compounds that your plant can't use.

Read the FAQ's for all of this info
bro, I read the FAQ like 5 times over a year ago. I just checked it again, it has not changed anywhere that would answer my question. Did you read my question? I can not find that anywhere on this site, let alone the FAQ. but since you know that it is in the FAQ, you must have read it there. so be cool and just answer it........ or do you not know either because you never saw that?

This is the only thing I have come accross that seems to act as a real guide for me considering nute levels. it's meant for hydro and I am a soil guy but the information seems accurate, I'm suffering a minor zinc problem myself right now that seems to have stunted growth the last week or so here...

that has nothing to do with my question. my question has to do with what the Marijuana plant wants in general through its different stages of life. It needs more nitrogen for veg growth, and more phosphorus when it is flowering, and less nitrogen. It does not work by just decreasing the amount of nitrogen for flowering, it needs to have a certain ratio of n to p to k. you lower the nitrogen, you have to lower everything accordingly if your plants are perfectly healthy already. i dont have a ph problem so that picture is garbage. my plant shows a nitrogen deff. but they show burn from p and k sometimes. I dont have a bottle of n and a bottle of p and a bottle of k. I have fox farm nutes that have a % of each in each one. I can use these percentages and numbers to maximize my yield if I know what ratio I am supposed to mantain, instead of knowing I want this much veg nutes and this much bloom nutes, I can say I want this much nitrogen, this much phosphorous and this much potassium and change them how I want. if that statement is true I can figure it out. if its false I dont wanna waste my time. where is anybody who knows what they are doing?

From reading Uncle Bens articles and write-ups on the advanced section of this site as well as other sites, I have gathered that he uses Peter's professional at the ratio of 9-3-6 for veg and 3-9-6 for flowering. These are supposed to be ideal ratios for the stages of a plants life. However, since I cannot get Peter's professional in my area, I use another commercial product and there ratios are 20-20-20 or 30-15-15 for veg and 15-30-15 for flowering and I have had fantastic success with them. I have gathered that one the most important thing is that the fertilizers include a good balance of chelated micronutrients that are readily available for plant life. As for mixing your own NPK values, I would suggest calling the company. They usually have people who get paid "big bucks" to answer questions like that. Also it is weird that you would have problems with there recommended feeding formulas because usually a lot of research goes into the correct mixes before fertilizer company's put them out for sale. This is probably why not many people can answer your question because it is usually a case of misusing the product rather than the mixture of there products themselves.

uh that graph shows exactly what it wants during veg and flower... I don't see how it's unrelated to your question...
If you are looking for a perfect synopsis I'm fairly certain no such thing exsists.
For one thing there are far too many strains about that would require slightly adjusted variances because of their differences during the process.

So you want to know the actual npk numbers for each phase of growth, correct?

For veg nutes the npk ratios should look similar to this: 3-1-2. The numbers can be larger like: 10-6-8 (HOT) but the ratio should always have more nitro than anything else.

For bloom time foods the npk ratios should be similar to this: 2-1-3 or 1-3-2. As an example of these npk ratios: Flora Nova bloom ratio is 4-8-7 and Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice Bloom ratio is 4-3-6. I hope this is what you were looking for and that this info wasn't so basic that it insulted your intelligence. Peace and luck

Yay!!! thanks bro! this is what i needed, a standard ratio I can aim for. since I started using the solubles from fox farm, like open sesame n those others I started having problems. Too much of something but not enough of something else. I see all the % on the labels but they all have some of everything at different levels and I didnt know what i wanted to be around

can you not read??? your graph shows the availability of nutrients at different ph levels. meaning it shows that if my ph is too high my plants cant get certain nutes, and only things related to ph. you are so stupid. just go smoke some weed and practice reading bro

You are welcome, glad to help. Those bloom enhancers are strong sometimes and can cause issues if the plants are blasted with them. I've blasted my plants with em too with unfavorable results. For this grow I am going with the less is better path and my plants this go around are out performing my first 5 grows. All I can say is just be gentle with your girls and they will love you for it.

my problem that made this complicated is I have 3 bottles of nutrients, and I use 1 of them during veg and flowering. I have to change the amount of all 3 of them to get it perfect, not just add some veg nutes or add some bloom nutes. the feeding schedule worked great for previous grows, but I want my girls to be perfect. i run same clones over and over and cant seem to get it dialed in right. thanks for some examples so i know what my limits are within my changes. uncle ben seems to know exactly the info I want, but I havent picked it all out from all his good posts n put it together yet

UB has an excellent handle on how the npk values affect the plant at different stages of growth. You would be going in the right direction if you followed his expertise. His posts and expertise helped me to understand where I was going wrong with my grows. Luck and peace
