0-10-10..somthing with no nitrogen and if you dont know this by the 3rd week of flowering you should seriously consider reading more

you'll need something with a very low amount of nitrogen or else youll see some deficiencies....

Well you don't want something completely lacking Nitrogen. Your plant still needs N even in flowering, so 0-10-10 is probably a bad idea. You want something high in phosphate and low in potash. I'm using something like 10-52-10. And honestly, you could probably use the 20-20-20 youre using right now. It's not ideal, but it will get the job done.

nitrogen is for stem and leaf growth, little or no nitrogen is what you need unless you want some leafy stemy buds

w/o ANY nitrogen you are risking lock-up.... and stunt your growth...

maybe thats something that you would like to experience "waytoohigh" but Im sure others dont really want to come across that...

stemmy weed is swag also..... unless the trimmer has no idea on how to use scissors.

yes, anything will work my friend.... but you are risking stunting your plants....

with my last grow I had a MAJOR nitrogen deficiency....... I would not want to deal with it again!!!!!!

I hope that the creator of this thread understands what Im trying to say..... yes its normal.... MUST you have a deficiency?? NO, YOU DONT.... so why deal w/ one????

waytoohigh, do you feel the need to argue that?

Grow faq- A common mistake for growers when they reach the flowering stage is to start hitting the plants with a high P fert like 10-60-10, continuing to use this blend exclusively, and when their plants start experiencing a deficit of N or micros as reflected by the dropping of lower leaves and chlorosis, they wonder why. Plants flower as a response to long nights, not because of fert blends high in P. A ratio of 10-60-10 is WAY to high in P

Good thing I supplement my nutrient solution with 24-8-8.

You probably shouldn't try to call people out when you're a newb...just saying.

I'm glad you read the GrowFAQ though.

I told him he needed to use something high in P and low in K while also still using a fertilizer with N. I happened to mention that I use 10-52-10 during flowering as an example.

But it doesn't matter anymore, he got the info he needs.

sorry for the thread jack...but I do have somethign to add to this one....

Check out this advancednutrient website I came across when searching for a good pk ratio for flowering. They use no N... and claim that 9-18 for pk is the best.... so higher in k...read and they will explain why... I am still very skeptical to try because everywhere else I read seems to be contrary.

But I am confused about the numbers in an npk fertilizer. so seudonym your using something that is 34 60 18 after it's all said and done? Are the higher the numbers the better...as long as the ratio is the same...or does it matter. I have been using this neptune's havest fertilizer that is only a 2 3 1. but there biggest testimonial is being responsible for growing the worls largest pumpkins...you should check 'em out. And then almost everyone knows about fox farm.... suppposed to be the bst...and they def. seem to market towards cannabis growers...

and there grow big is 6 4 4 for vegging. and for flower there tiger bloom is 2 8 4... seems to be the good ratio after reading this thread...just a little n... twice as much p as k...

Hope I sparked some more convo...I love reading intelligent people's opinions.

I do know that my plants grow anywhere for 1 to 3 inches a day...depeding on strain... but this is outdoors... I got a few clones like last week of June and had them in the ground first week of June...they are already 30 inches tall...HUGE looking...very super healthy!!!! super good looking... I do also use worm juice and worm castings and hot pepper wax and garlic spray to prevent pests... I water twice a day... I'm in northern cali...weather has been about 90 degrees or warmer past couple weeks. I'm using fox farm ocean forest soil....got about 11 gallons of soil per plant.

I'm at work so can't post any pics...but let me know if you want 'em and I'll get 'em when I get home and check the response after this post

He's giving you ppl good info. You CAN use a 0-10-10 NPK. However, during flowering.. you don't want to totally cut-off your Nitrogen supply to the plant ya dig? As he said.. it will/can/could give you problems. Now, dude said he used koolbloom0-10-10 and got away with it. He was luck he got away with it i guess.. because when I flower my plants... Ya dig? I use a low nitrogen number. I dont totally stop supplying Nitrogen to my plants ya dig? I use my own mix.. of like 5%nitrogen - 10-10.

Something like that would work just fine. last two numbers can be which ever you prefer. As long as your Nitrogen level is low.. but there. You'll be alright. Peace.
