A guy here, I found out he is just a couple hours from me, and when I found out he is having problems with his temps, I offered a window unit I am not using, with the understanding he could pay me 'whenever', fully intending this would be "one of those times". He politely refused, but after a couple more indications that heat was an issue, I finally convinced him to come get it, and pay me later. I think this is really a stand up guy.

Are you sure he didn't just schmooze you into thinking it was your idea?
