Not Trichomes?

What are these brownish red filaments on the buds? Good or bad sign? Pretty sure they aren't trichomes.

will I be able to see the trichomes with a regular lower power magnifying glass??

how long to harvest, and checking out the trichomes on this short little plant would you say?

sorry, I'm an old hippy but haven't grown weed since 1976, way before anyone knew about trichomes!

Those filaments are Pistils, I believe the spelling goes.

The buds will grow, or the pistils grow another way to look at it. You'll have a pistil at one end and the bud at the other.

You'll need a 60x - 100x scope to get a good look at the trichs.

Weeks to go and those are pistils when they recede into the bud you are close

Hobbs! Where's a good place to get that scope??

Herb, they'll recede all the way and disappear? How long after that should I be checking?

is this a indica do you think?

You can get a jewelers loop on Amazon for $10. Fun to look at the trichomes up close but not needed.
Wait for the empty seed bracts to swell up—looks like popped popcorn—. The stigmas or pistils as are called will appear to be engulfed by the seed bracts.

You have awhile yet before they're done.. check back in, in a couple weeks.. not one plant is the same and flowering times very..
At the moment its hard to give you an exact time.. more then likely you have a month or better until its ready.. could be longer or shorter..
