not supposed to smell like lemons, HELP!!

I have grown my own for about 4 years indoors and with a soil medium. altho i have learned alot and thought i had it going great, but now i have a strong lemon smell coming from 2 diferent strains that i know are not supposed to smell like lemons. I have Snow White and Ice. I have grown both kinds many times b4 and they always did great and were the same consistant smell and taste until this time. they are 5 weeks into flowering and look fantastic, lots of buds and crystals, but the lemon smell is spreading. any ideas????

They must have caught lemonitis. Kill them and clean everything with gasoline. Jk. I've had ice before and it smelled and tasted like shit and leather. Seems like lemon would be a welcome change.

you must have just came across a lemon phenotype,i would keep it if i were you.

It could just be an odd few phenotypes within ur seeds genetic makeup. Although u've grown from same batch of seeds, within those seeds 90% could display your usual expected odour traits, yet there might be 10% out there that never really lost their lemon odour trait from if say a lemon skunk, etc was involved in their crossbreeding heritage and the seeds u planted now just happen to be the 10% that express the lemon trait more vividly.

Generally tho i'd say u've nothing to worry about either way; ur observation that they look fantastic with loadsa buds & crystals at week 5 flowering probably means it'll still be a killer yield & smoke! But it'll maybe just be abit different tasting, smelling, and/or maybe the high feels abit different to usual - either way it all sounds cool & it'll make that first smoke all the more interesting!!

it wasnt the same batch of seeds, i order new for every grow straight from Amsterdam. I dont mind the lemon smell, but it dosen't taste like lemons, it tastes kind of musty.

And ignore Capt. stickyfingers ludicrous suggestion about gasoline; any experienced grower clearly knows you gotta take-off and nuke the entire grow-site from orbit.

Im having the same problem with one of my plants. Its a bubba 76 plant. I have never grown this type before. But I have had plants that smelled strong like lemons and ended up being crappy weed. The plants look incredible and probably have about a month of budding left. Of course I am going to let them grow. But I am curious how your plants ended up smoking/tasting?
