not first, but hopefully first success (many ????'s)

they are not clones, they're from decent bagseed that I had got a little while ago. I haven't been keeping track of their age but my first post on 04/07 had them at about 2 weeks, so I guess that makes them 6 weeks now (prob. 5 when I took the pics). They where both about 8 in. tall, the bigger one was 16-17 in. wide, while the smaller one was 13-14 in. wide. both have 8 or 9 nodes.

Guess thats it for now, will post some new pics in a week. Once I figure out my timer.

Anyway, I've been harboring a problem. It started about 2 weeks ago.

I fed my plants, and the next day...
Browning of the leaves on one plant, not just the tips but the tips of the seraded blades on the leaves, next day.....
Very light green spots in between the veins going from main leaf vein to tips of leaf, next day....
Leaves browning and start to turn crunchy brittle and curled

Now, becauseI had just fed, I assumed nute-burn....
fast forward 1 week, one feeding since with plain water....
problem getting worse, maybe because I didn't flush?....
fast forward another week, problem still getting worse?

(hmmmm, maybe whitefly larvae. hmmmmm haven't seen any bugs at all through the whole grow)

Went to barnes&Nobles earlier tonight. Looked at a couple cannabis cultivation books. One had a description of my problem, down to the last detail. Nute burn? Whiteflies? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Mg deficiency, low ph. Huh, so i guess ph is important. Went to wal-mart and picked pool ph test kit (test chlorine too, oooohhhhhh).

well, we have one confirmed female. I almost started dancing around the kitchen when i saw those first little set of hairs. Still pretty freakin ecstatic.
The other isn't showing yet, but looks to me at least like we may be 2 for 2. (fingers crossed). Any way, i tested my well water (which I had assumed was alright, cuz it's from a spring) and...well...it was 8.2 , so i figured out how much vinegar I need to put in a gallon to get it down to 6.8 -7.0, and i flushed both my plants with the ph'd water. so, looking all good.

p.s. marilyn (the smaller one) is the confirmed female. We're still waiting on jessica.

thanks, just checked tonight and i'm about 75-80% ssure I have two females, woot woot. God that would be fuckin great. two seeds ---> two females. (maybe they were hermies). Anyway, I promise, soom pics by this weekend.

dam..lucky you man..i was 1 for 4..which brings my lifetime total to about 1 for 8..lol..oh well..many more to come..cant wait to see the updated pics

Not too much to show in the pics yet, just enough hairs to know for sur no buds yet, ofcourse it's only been a little more than a week. Iam actually kinda surprised they showed so early. man 2 females..that is sweet man..im soo jealous..but now the fun begins watchin those buds swell..enjoy....as for reflowerin/veggin i am interested myself as i dont know to much on this subject...peace

reveg not really an option right now. My gf wants me to put it up for a while after I harvest these two (baby coming in sept.). However I have heard (or thought I heard) of cutting off the main cola (or possible a few of the larger secondary colas?) and letting the remaing buds keep going for a couple weeks till they get bigger. A big question for me is, I am planning to harvest when the trichs are a cloudy amber color, to get the highest level of thc before it starts to break down. Does the thc in the smaller less developed buds, reach max and start breakdown at same time as the main cola?

good questions man..if ya find the answers let me kno cause im gettin closer and closer to harvest and not to sure what the hell im doin so im gettin nervous...its my first harvest and i dont wanna fuk it up afetr all this time..i gotta a lot more readin to do i guess..lol

yeah, I know what you mean. I read a shitload about all the dif. cutting or curing and harvesting tricks and everything waaaayyyy back when I fiirst came here at the beggining of my grow......and now I have forgotten all of it, lol. Yeah I'll probably post another thread about the reflower question.

ya..theres alot to remember..i read like an hr or two every night and still feel like i dont kno shit..lol ....i think on my next grow im gonna set up a cloning station so i wont have to worry about the re veggin..i shoulda done it this time but space and laziness were big issues

yeah, my gf used to get so pissed cuz I would come home from work and spend like 3-4 hours some nights (not most) reading up on here. She's threatend to throw them out like 5 times, lol. I don't think she would though (hopefully). Yeah, I'm gonna do it right my next time around, cloning and all that. Feels damn good to finally get one grow under my belt (knock on wood).

yea if she throws em out thats definite grounds for a breakup..lol..ya this fisrt time has been amazing..as much as ive read ive learned as much if not more by a watchin this baby grow

yeah, prob not break-up, she's kind of carrying my son right now. Probably no sex for like 2 months though, lol. I know, I never realised how fufilling it is growing. After 4 very short lived attempts, this has been amazing. Can't wait till they start filling in.

hey congrats on the little one(not the plant the baby) and ya it has been a great new hobby..it just came to my mind one night after i spent a shit load of $$$ to get another bag..and i was like...dam there has to be another way..enter rollitup..after seein all these people growin crazy plants i was like,,hell ya..thats all me..as soon as those lights go on it puts an instant smile on my face

yep, first thing I do when i get home from work is check on em. Thanks (about the baby). Now, I can understand why so many people start gardening as a hobby (though I prolly won't be growing veggies anytime soon, too much better stuf to grow )

ya i hear ya..mine just came on so i was chekin em out..seem to have a little nute burn though so im gonna lay off em for now..hopefully someone will comment onthe super bloom..im gettin a feeling its kida on the strong side..but i dunno

yeah, But I was also looking at these nutes a while ago that were like 0-60-0 or 0-0-45 and shit. I guess probably just start with a real low dosage like 1/4 or even 1/8 to start and then build up. probably going to water and feed tonight or tommorow.

ya i started and quarter ..then went up to almost half and i think it was to much at the time..as ive got a few disclored tips,,but i dont think it will be a major problem
