Not a green thumb definitely struggling

First let me say I can’t even grow the tomatoes that come in the pot with tomatoes already sprouting so bear with my newbie self. I’m legally allowed to grow 4 plants I ordered 5 female seeds received 7. The seeds were supposed to be a hardy plant easy to grow for beginners. I researched the hell out of the germinate vs non and I went non because that’s how Mother Nature intended. I got the plugs you wet and I followed the instructions from a weed website how to grow and I did everything correctly. It will be 3 weeks Sunday and nothing! I can’t believe I managed to kill all of them! Is all hope lost? Are they maybe just slow germinators?

imo, dump the plugs if you have any beans left.. water the soil in well, take a pencil or pen or what have you, make a smell indentation in the top of the soil, about a quarter of an inch or so deep at most..carefully place you seed in the hole you just made, and cover it over with some soil.. make sure to keep the soil moist, not wet. should have a little baby plant in a week'ish or so.. oh, i forgot, you don't really need any sort of light before the plant comes above the soil line, but a bit of heat will help the germination.. nothing crazy, just don't want it cold.

oh, also, look inside of your plugs and carefully see if you can find the beans.. just be careful as you search for them.. if you can find them, carefully remove them from the plugs and take a gander.. if the seeds still look good and hard and don't look rotten or anything like that, follow my above advice on planting them directly into the soil.. if they look bad, try again with any beans you might have left, or unfortunately, you'll have to buy some more and try again.. good luck.

Okay I have a project tomorrow. Good thing we have stores here.
meant to ask earlier, i know you said you were trying to germ them in plugs, but what are you using for an actual medium to grow in? you doing hydro with something like hydroton or something similar?
i'm not saying a new grower can't learn and do well with a hydro setup right out of the box, but imvho, it's definitely a much harder thing to learn with a steeper learning curve and much less user friendly at the end of the day where a minor mistake can have major implications.. i like to suggest a new grower to learn in soil as it's much easier to learn in ime, and a small problem isn't going to be potentially fatal, again, growing in hydro for a newb can be done, just my opinion of course.

Drop ure seeds in water outa tap wateva once they split a root as soon as u see it out 1/2 inch plant with root down. Only go in inch max or u can just go under soil or pellet keep it wet not overly pellet shouldnt have to touch but water with spray bottle helps. They be up in 2/3 days from droping into water. U mighta put em too deep or if they dryed near the top it kills it soughta burns em 20190411_194943.jpg

I like to germinate in a ziplock bag between a wet paper towel then blow up the ziplock and put somewhere kinda warm.i usually put on top of my cable box or playstation.you will notice humidity in the ziplock. Tjat is what u want to see. Just make sure not to cook the seeds. In 24-36 hours you should have seeds sprouted. Then i carefully move them into a small pot and plant them with the pointy end pointing downward about a 1/4" below the soil. Just use a spray bottle to water them as not to damage them in the first 2 weeks. Probably have to spray a couple times a day though or put some saran wrap over the pot to make a kind of green house. Just make sure to poke a hole or 2 for air to come in

You can't plant seed's too deep in those things, just a little deep, like 1/4" deep max.
Your seeds are probably shot at this time.
If your growing in soil you can just place the seed directly into your pot 1/4" down, keep moist at a temp of around 70 degrees, and that will work.
Good luck with your endeavors.

It’s just soil, I’m not near ready for hydro besides I’m looking to grow my 5 plants enough for me because I still like trying new strains from the dispensary.

Sorry but probably rotted. I hate plugs and pellets. Next time use Promix or somethin*similar in a solo cup. 5 tablespoons of water to wet the soil. You don’t want it soaking but it’ll stay moist long enough for seed to sprout usually. Anyways, moisten the soil and then plant seed about quarter inch. Don’t go too deep. Keep them above 70 degrees and you’ll see sprouts in 4-6 days

Thanks for the help. I did everything right according to what everyone is saying except I think the seeds got to wet. I have them in a wee greenhouse thing with a plastic lid. Never one to dwell on the past! Next question; I have 100 free seeds I got when I followed a weed seed site. They are a mix of female and male seeds. I can own 4 plants legally. I was thinking I would try 5 seeds in the plugs and 5 I would attempt germination. Should I try more than 10? I don’t want to end up with 10 plants?

Whats the website for all the seeds.lol.i would do 10 to start. Probably have 1 or 2 that wont germinate and then 1 or 2 that wont make it. 6 left half qill be males so probably end up with4 plants in the end. Feminized seeds are nice as you jave a 99% chance of them being female.i just got seed from I49. What are they going to do if they catch u with more than 4 plants anyways. Maybe give u a fine. Nobody knows how many you have inside anyways. As long as you dont have more then 4 of them outside for people to see. It wont really matter imo

Hahaha. Im kinda old and dont license my dogs.lol. as for those seeds u could just throw them in some paper towel into a ziplock with the paper towel being damp and just blow the ziplock up and put bbn in a warm dark place. Just like u would for proofing yeast for baking. May be a lost cause but foesnt hirt to try
