There is great weed growers all over the state of california. I feel that there is a shit ton of weed that comes from the north and while none of it is really bad generally most of it isn't that great either. It is mass produced. Most of the dankest buds I get come from local growers.
So my opinion is that there is great bud everywhere in california! But the best deals on weed are def up north. And I think that there is 20ish % THC pot all over and generally it doesn't get to far from the people growing it. Lol I know most of my buds grown don't go to far.

looks like the great state of cali is dividing huh? its unfair has fuck to say cali has the best weed in the world. esp. indoors. bubba kush grows just has well in my closet in chicago has it does in yalls in cali. weather wise its a little better. but the rich northern illinois soil is amoung the most fertile in the u.s.a.if not the world!!!! thats why sooo many nativa americans settled here waaay back in the days.

not sure who has the best northern or southern california but i do know the further one gets up the state the natives get friendlier n friendlier, n the vibe better n better. socal can have some uptight natives (not all)

strongest bud I've ever had in my life. I've had tons of indoor from so-cal, just wasn't my thing. strong short highs I"ll pass on.... the flavors were better than the shit I grew though, but I grow for effect and looks over flavor...

From a Vendor who goes from NorCal to SoCal... the weed is the same. Only difference is the abundance of outdoor in NorCal compared to all the hydro and indoor buds in SoCal.
Only difference I've ever seen is NorCal buds are more moist do to the weather up there. That and NorCal's prices are 50% cheaper.

I live in a place in norcal where the humidity averages 15-20% in the daytime, my buds are /not/ moist in any way shape or form.
many places around nor-cal may be like this, but there are golden areas that grow the best weed on earth, hands down.
and to the vendor thing.... the best shit never makes it to the vendors. they call it head stash for a reason...
and edit: I don't mean norcal grows the best indoor on earth, someone else can take that.... nor-cal grows the best outdoor on earth easily... especially the area I live with low humidity and LOTS of sun... (lower humidity allows more sunlight to get through...)

I get head stash from my buddies dad when I want to piss a brick out of my ass... but I'd rather keep it for myself because it's amazing. So no, it isn't kept from all vendors, just all clinics 
What's vended, they dry them inside their 5 dry rooms. Only problem is they're not the best insulated things on earth, and due to the quantity of product... I know my lazy friend doesn't burp the storage bags as much as he should, always seems to get a little moist (was last year anyways). But I see the same thing with a lot of the bud that comes my way unless up there. Pretty sure it just has to do with the people I deal with. They have so much, they're too damn lazy to be up and at it every hour of the day to perfect it. They're young and have shit they want to do more than grow amazing shit. Rather settle for the norm. Unlike my buddy's dad, who's entire work revolves around growing, and growing HUGE. If it's one person I know who I can say mastered his craft.. it's that guy.
Never had such potent shit come off of a ~7lb outdoor monster plant. Nothing I've had down here has been able to touch how strong it hits me. I put it on par with honey oil/ budder as far as how high it gets me.
