North Carolina outdoor 2009

We all Known a lot of quality dank comes from North Carolina. We have mountains in the west, hills in the piedmont, eventually becoming the coastal plain all the way to the Altantic Ocean. All three regions have very different, yet rich soils. I've smoked some of the best shit ever in Asheville, and have seen beautiful nuggets grown in the sandy soil of tobacco country near New Bern.

If you're in NC and grow outdoor, let's see those pics!

Right here baby. I'll be starting a thread with my pics soon. Growing TGA gear in the Piedmont. What strains are you growing?

Wish that fertile soil thing held true where I'm at. Red clay over rock. Gotta import all soil, no biggie though it's all for a good cause.

Growing Hindu Kush and an unnamed indica dominant hybrid out of Mexi. Piedmont as well, and i feel you on that soil. nothing but red clay and pine needles! I've been having to amend the shit out of it with lime and some compost, beats carrying a bunch of soil out into the woods.


went out today to check em out and they're a little stunted, yellow. this acidic soil is a bitch! should be all good once I get that under control.

Im right off the Blue Ridge Trail here boys :)

Here are a couple pics of my NC Church and Thai Super Skunk. I plan on growing them in the containers they are in for another week then switching to 5 gallon buckets and eventually going into the ground probably around June 1st. Also have some White Rhino babies that need a bit more time before they head outdoors.

Next time you are around Asheville, hit up the Orange Peel for some music and good bud :joint:

I have a few friends up in Sylva, so I'm up there from time to time. Love going up to Nantahala to get my camp on. let's get up and burn some of that Church with my Kush come harvest time. :joint:

im in NC as well..There is decent soil where I am..I grew up in the piedmont area, can def relate to the red clay...sucks..im more east now...I dont have experience outdoor growing..my grow is indoors...but hey, still in NC..

Soil near Bragg is decent but ain't got nothin worth putting in the ground yet workin on my first AG grow.
Went to the pot rally in Raleigh Saturday and it was great. If we could only get it to vote. We could get the numbers.

There is A LOT of clay in NC but I would take it over the soil in most places that I have lived.

It's kind of a bitch to work with at first but it's easy enough to break up. I will usually dig out my grow area and mix the clay with topsoil, Gypsum, and a little bit of sand to make it drain better.

The great thing about clay though is that it is absolutely packed with nutrients and you really don't need to add any if you don't want to. About the only thing I will add is a soil acidifier and maybe some time released nutes then leave them alone until September/ October.
