Noobs first attempt to grow

Hello all ! Just wanted to drop in the noob section, sounds like my section. I found a few seeds in my dispensary weed and decided to germinate a few seeds. I think it’s a sativa hybrid, but not sure. I have the branches supported because they are like spaghetti noodles and won’t support the small buds. Can someone tell me what the cause for the skinny limbs are? From what I have read, it could be weak lighting ? A lot of good info on this forum, tyvm

Great job coaching that plant to the point it can't hold its flowers up.. Ventilation might not have been enough as well. Air movement over a plant causes microtears in the stems that will scare and heal over which will make the branches stronger. Grow again but invest if you can into a better light to increase the quality of the grow. Again good job getting that lady to where it is. Enjoy that smoke!

Welcome to RIU. Plant is very stretched out, needs much more light. I have to agree with the others.

Thanks Mick, I have this plant growing in the corner of my garage with nite temps around 45 and day temps at 65- 75. I have one 30 watt GE LED grow lites, 2 - 9watt LED, one T-5. Flour lite and a cheap 9 watt led adjustable lite so looks like I need to upgrade if I want to grow “real plants”
Thanks for the help
You forgot the partridge and the pear tree :D

Yeah those were next
I have a fan on light timer so its getting air while the lights are on. I need to get a grow tent, but if I do that I gotta deal with exhaust air, make-up air, possible cooling for the heat load from lights and a partridge in a pear tree

Damn Gene, that’s gonna hurt
I may have to do that, but I’m retired and away for a week or two at a time, so I can’t really care for the plants as required for top-shelf product. So I may have to po-boy it for now

And yes, I do have pest but not sure if or how I should treat the problem this close to harvest.
Thought about hand wiping the leaves with spinosad or just let it go for another 10 days and harvest

Make everything you can. I always have. And always will. I believe in you.

Just a thought but you can build a box/tent for it out of plywood and white paint.

Cheap effective and will help focus your light instead of losing it to the room.

wiz, I do need a tent or enclosure as my biggest problem growing in the garage floor is people interrupting the dark hours. Pulling the car in after dark and a host of other reasons. So next grow season I will have tent / box to grow in or I’ll just give up

Oh yea those light pollution issues can cause major problems.

You can cover it with a tarp for the 12 hours of dark.

I suggest not giving up. A small clip fan to move the plants a bit to help strengthen up the plant is like $7 on amazon, and a inline fan for $20. All you need to do is move the lights and build a box after that.

I’m using the fan in the picture this centrifugal fan moves a lot of air. Also a look at my temp set-up
So all you need now is an inline exhaust fan. $20 amazon, some plywood, and white paint. You obviously have the tools lol.

Seriously you can improve your grow conditions for about $50. That return will immediately come to you in better yield on your next run.

Not that I think your selling. But not having to spend money on weed is a huge savings.
