Noob with a few questions. Please help.

Hey guys, Ive been reading a lot on here and have learned a lot so thanks too all of you.
Im not sure if there is already a post on this but anyway..

I am planning on buying a 3'x3' tent with a 400 watt MH/HPS light with cool tube.
Do you guys think a 400 watt is enough for that size of space? and if so what would be the best way to vent it? and that doesn't cost too much. :-(

I already have a few seeds sprouted which is some Northern Lights under some cfls.

any answers will help. I am just looking to learn and get this right the first time.

scrubber>tubing>cool tube>ducting>6 inch fan>vent hole

is what most have said is the best way to config it. i bought a 400w light with a cool tube. Just need ducting and a good inline fan. Not a duct fan they do not pull enough air.

I do have a few questions for you though.
How hot does your 400 watt run at? and how do your ambient temps look?

I'm just not sure on how many cfms would be ideal for a 3'x3' tent.

My ambient temp is 78-80 its an un air conditioned closet. its still under construction so i haven't hung the light yet.

CFM = 449 for the 6 inch vortex inline fan i bought. its gonna rock the closet. i bought a speed controller too so if i need it its already on hand.

Yea the last thing I would need would be the fan and carbon filter,

which they seem to cost the most. I could make a DIY filter.

Im seeing ones that do 300cfm for like 200. I dont have that money.
I've checked ebay and craigslist but nothing.

Any ideas?

Yea thats where I am getting the tent and light.
when do you think would be a good time to buy a fan and scrubber?
they are just seedlings right now

You wont need the tent right away but get the scrubber in place asap. Clean air later is very important and if you put it off you will have a smell problem for sure. even if its a neutral smelling strain, it will still give off a plant smell.
