Noob Water Question??

Whats up rollitup!!:leaf: I have had two 5 gallon buckets sitting for 3 days now with nothing but a airstone in each. I tested the ppm and it is saying about 275 for each. Now, my tap water measured about 150-160. My question is, "Is the ppm suppose to go up?" I thought that by oxygenating the water it would drop ppm and clear out the chlorine etc.. Please, if someone can elaborate it would be very much appreciated. Also, i have had 2 clones for about a week now, what is the ideal ppm? Its sitting at around 315 ppm right now. Thanks!

I feed all my green the spent res water from the budders, then drain to waste. The spent res water is definately over 315. You guys are gonna have me buying a PPM meter:) In the budding room I know if the mix is to hot by the smell of it, regardless of the fertilizer used. This is very difficult to explain but I would descibe a lethal mix as having a rubber boot kinda smell, or just a hint of it.
