I the tent is in an outdoor shed which is uninsulated but it’ll be insulated soon. I also have another 4x4 waiting to go but I am waiting to start that one until I insulate the shed. I know I have 2 Jack Frost’s (which are doing the best) and the other 4 are unknown.

Nah fuck that, get it all out, the more specific u r, the more people can give u pointers or not have to ask u too much..and kno wat ur doin right...

Anyway sounds like ur doin really good.
Is your intake just passive or r u using a fan? Is the air comn from outside, or just in th shed? Have u been watchn th temps? Some dont agree, but from my experience, if u can keep temps on th lower end, youll get more girls!! U dont actually have the filter hooked up yet right? Sounds like ur on the right track

Yea both intakes are passive pulling from the outside (shed air is too hot and barely moving). The temps aren’t bad. There are some days that got up to low 90’s in the tent (outside temps were the same). The carbon filter is on currently.

Yea thats wat i figured, do u have a mesh or filter on the intake and out? Also i never use my carbon filter unless flowering, id just have a piece of ac filter or somthn breathable on the in n out. 90s pretty hot, maybe some kind of small ac wld benefit u, especially if it gets hotter where u live.

I have the screen from the window of the shed and panty hose over the intakes. The weather isn’t normally that hot right now, should be low 80’s during the day. I was worried about the heat but the plants have been growing by leaps and bounds and look great.

I was thinking maybe as a precaution spraying some neem oil and putting a 1-2” layer of perlite. Is that a good preventative measure?

Neem oils always good i usually use it no matter what n the later wks of veg. I wldnt do a layer of perlite, as long as u got 40 percent in the soil, the better ur drainage less chance of bugs. And def takem out if ur gonna sprayem and id wait til theyre a lil bigger

Ok. I will wait for another week or 2.

Plant doesn’t seem to be gettin worse and soil looks like there is nothing crawling around in it so I guess it was my screw up. Toned back on watering and I think I toned back a little to much. One of the ladies got a little droopy over night. Underwatering im guessing?

How dry is ur medium getting to the touch? Its n a dixie cup i assume...holes n th bottom of it.. she may b a lil droopy, but doesnt look that bad... did u just water? Honestly that soil still looks wet, cld jus b the pic....

I had just watered before I took the pic. The soil was definitely dry when I got into the tent (starting to separate from solo cup) this morning. Normally I water them 2 times a day (especially when it’s hot) but since I was worried about bugs I decided to skip a watering yesterday morning. Yesterday night I gave them a light watering and this morning a light watering as well. I’ve never had the feeling that I overwater I was just worried about the potential for bugs so I wanted to let it dry out more than usual.

Yea most people will tell u if ur watering more than once a day, ur overwatering...which is generally true...but in ur case ur growing indoors and out at the same time...no telln how dry they cld get.. u dont sound stupid:smile:
If u think ur watering them right, u probably are... also consider, if it does get dry there, maybe wen u transplant throw some vermiculite in...maybe 20/30/50

I never lightly water....imo water the whole cup til u get a lil run off...if u dont have much perlite n the soil now, water slowly...a lil, absorb, lil more, absorb, until u get a bout 1/4 cup of run off

Then letem dry out, but not bone dry, not separating like u said but top dry all the way

You have run off even with seedlings? I think the perlite to soil ratio is around 30%

Yea i do..a lil less if theres less perlite.
Especially if its dry enough that ur doin somthn to em twice a day. Soakem and let em dry. Dont go crazy n flushem. But get a lil run off.

I dont believe in lightly waterin them. Or sprayin em to keep them a lil moist. Assuming ur usin the right size container ( not a seedling in a 5 gal.) U want all the medium to get equally moist. If ur not gettn runoff u prolly havent achieved this.

I only give them about 10 sprays from a sprayer and the wilting started the day after I skipped a watering. I never get run off like you do I’m thinking it’s not enough water and evaporated before it has a chance to get to the bottom of the cup but I know over and underwatering look almost the same

Just a quick update. I have completely changed the watering and it had made a huge difference! I have been watering about every 2 days with the runoff that you described. Also it was definitely time to transplant so now they are in 3 gallon pots (except one is in a 1 gallon) as of last night. I have also hung more lighting to spread out the light evenly in the tent.
