Noob needs some advice..

Hi this would be my second time growing from seed and the first time I just threw them in some planting soil and it worked out alright, I got 9 out of 10 germinated..
So my question is this- I planted 10 seeds in the soil and afer a week only 5 of them have sprouted...So should I be concerned or just relax..
I never kept track last year so I dont have anything to compair to...
Thanks time to rool one up...

I wouldn't worry...sometimes seeds can be duds. I like germinating in a moistened paper towel twice folded in a Tupperware with a slightly opened lid. I leave it in a dark cabinet and usually have taproots in 24-48 hours. Next, I tranfer to soil or rockwool placing the taproot facing down 1/4-1/2" deep and covering it with the medium.

This is also my method, but before the water, and moist paper towel my seeds get 24 hours in room temperature tap water in a dark room with small heater, helps them SWELL quickly!

I use a shot glass half full of warm water in a dark warm room. But it all comes out the same! My way is old, old school. Guess because I'm old.
Your just gonna get some bad seeds.
