I suspect that this is a pollen sac forming but was wondering if it is nothing at all or perhaps it could still be female??

looks like a boy to me. that growth is too round to be female, in my opinion.

It's hard to tell from the angle but it looks to me like the stems are just swelling to handle the weight of the buds. Could you put up some more pics?

One week from 12/12, you should wait about another week that should give you enough time to form pistils, if not.....chop chop chop!

Either way, you still have at least 4-5 safe days if not over a week or more. Just let it grow out until you're sure.

It needs to be on 12/12 for at least a week before you can know for sure, but there's nothing there now, it's just the stem.
