noob driver question. 1 driver 1 clu048.

Hi, i have difficulties in my location, to get good drivers. I'm making a setup with clu048 36v at 1400ma. I'm a little confused with driver, led specs.

Using the simulator at 1400ma, i need 36.7v:

I found a driver that outputs 20-36v 1500ma.

My confusion is this, if i use the driver at 36v, the leds will only use 1100ma (see attached image)?. Or the driver will output only 1500ma, and the driver will run forced at higher voltages?

the other option that i have is to get a 18-60v 1400 ma driver. This would be better? at 1400ma the leds will drop 36.7v? will the driver break if i use it at its full 1400ma?

I think it will work, but if you have to run the led brighter, you’re gonna need a different driver. the driver you have running at max won’t last as long, but it’ll work for a good long while.

The Driver you mentioned with 18v - 60v and 1500mA. The 1212 has a nominal Voltage of 36v so the cob fits inside the 18v - 60v range and will run at 1500mA. You might get ~ 55 watts on the cob
