UPDATE

The 600w HPS is now in effect. put it in last nite.

here are some pics from this morning.

Plants look alittle shocked from the light so i moved it up a slight notch this morning.

currently sitting at about 70cm away from tops.

think i might set water pump on for another 15min interval today to add some more water to these girls (x)
to make up for the increased heat.

will post new pics in a few days after the light takes effect

I love DIY systems, would you be able to take some group shots of your entire setup please?

The pic on the first page pretty much shows the whole setup.

All u dont see is the res bucket under the table.

its based on a standard drip irrigation setup. each pot (with plenty of drainage) is placed inside a similar diameter bin without drainage. Then i just picked up those white things which are from a tap fitting. they come with a metal mesh that i glue over the inner hole. (to prevent and lose hydroton from clogging up pipes)

This way all the pots are individual and can be rotated with ease.

Each bin then has a return hose going back to the res.

In the res is a water pump connected to the hosing which distributes to the 3 drippers.
Also a alluminum heater, air stone and pump.

Thats pretty much it :D

nah not as complex as iws.
theres a better pic of it here

Update.

Have since done a res change. ph sitting at just under 6.
Nutes at EC 1. Was causing a slight nute burn to some of the leaves in the middle plant so i backed her down to ec .8-.9

Hopefully that solves it.

Could be the superthrive i added in the last water change.

Anyone had much experience with it? (superthrive)
The dosage is really strange on the packet. talking about 1 drop per gallon etc.

Superthrive is not a nutrient its a concentrated vitamin & hormone that acts like a tonic for your plants, it should be added to your water WITH your nutrients.

I once added a cap full of ST to 1 litres of water with nutes & my mother plant out grew my cab. But theirs no need for that as ST is quite expensive just use as instructed.

Expensive? I paid about $14Aus for 120ml at a hydrostore.

as u only need a few drops i considered it to be cheap as chips :D
