Non mj ferts...

Disillusioned with veg ferts that have more potassium than nitrogen i am going to run an ACTUAL high nitrogen veg fert made by chempak. Although most high potassium veg ferts will give you ok results i believe a high nitrogen fert will do a lot better.

Its money where your mouth is with me, Chempak no2 npk 25-15-15, ill have first results in a week.

it will work just as good as any other nutrient that cost 10 times as much . looks good for veg . you could grow them 8 foot tall with that

A 25-15-15 fertilizer will not likely have calcium or magnesium in it. So, make sure you check on that. A little bit of gypsum and epsom salt as a soil amendment would do you well in that case.

It is missing 2 things, other wise it is a complete fertilizer. It has no calcium and i cant see any sulphur but yes to everything else and it has a touch of magnesium.

It is purely a soil product and i guess they assume (as a general gardener would) that any limed soil will allready provide some calmag.

I have plenty of calmags so its one thing i want to see as well as how a high nitrogen feed does compared to mj ferts, npk 2-1-1 against 3-1-3.

These plagron ferts i just got are 4-2-4 for veg, alga grow.

It looks like all the Chempak fertilizers are water soluble. So, the media you use it in does not matter.

Any soil that has had liming materials added will not necessarily have added magnesium, but will have calcium. All agricultural lime has calcium, but not all has magnesium. This shouldn't be a problem though. I expect any company doing soil blending to have decent lab tests on their product and would expect they know to add magnesium.

This product will perform pretty much the same as a 2-1-1. Remember, fertilizer is all about concentration. As long as the final feed solution has similar concentrations of nutrients, you'll be fine.

I would expect it to perform worse than a 3-1-3 though. Simply due to the lack of potash.

My personal recommendation would be to add some SOP(sulfate of potash, potassium sulfate). This will help you with the low potash numbers and also provide you with your necessary added sulfates.

They do add magnesium and it is soluable blue crystals. My first fert i ever used years ago was this and tbh it outperformed all the subsequent mj ferts ive had since then. This is why i also want to try it all these years later.

I have a stack of ferts 3-1-3, 3-1-4, 4-2-4 etc etcfrom a few mj brands for veg but none work that well unless i add calmag. Wouldnt care but most are high in this as well so i can only sumise it is the extra nitrogen in the calmag.

An Npk of 3-1-3 is not a high nitrogen fertilizer by a long shot, in veg i cant see how any plant wouldnt need more nitrogen than any other nutrient. In bloom the lucas formula is far from a perfect npk but it does work.
