No till prep

I was all for going back to a DWC grow next, but my current organic soil grow has taught me a lot, as has all the reading I have been doing.

So now I'm considering doing a no-till grow next.

I am proud of my almost four-year-old living soil, and while I still have around 8 weeks left of my current grow, I thought I could start prepping now and work on boosting my soil life.

This is what I'm looking at doing the grow in.

It will fit in my 3x3 tent nicely.

Questions, should I start with the soil in it (the tub ^) now? Should I start the cover crop well before I put the plant in it?
What would be recommended as the best cover crop for a begginer?

What I was thinking, was to start boosting my soil now, then once my tent is free I will move it in and plant the cover crop and wait a couple more weeks before planting two clones.

I want to try and keep costs down, with the only purchases being Mycorrhizal Fungi Inoculant, and maybe a tub of red wrigglers.

I think my plan is workable but would love some advice (mostly around timeframes, when to do what)

Any pics of your 8 week plants in living soil?

I’m sure you will get a bunch on f different opinions. I planted my cover crop when I established my soil in the pots and just dug it up when I transplanted to the pots with the bigger plant. I don’t run a cover crop anymore as it always got out of hand on me and just annoyed me. I ran mostly clover and a few canna mix’s. I also used to just mulch it up but now I don’t even do that.

Yes, they have 8 - 10weeks left give or take, only a week into flower.

I'm not sure not exactly it's what you guys consider "living soil"?

The soil (outside garden) I started almost 4 years ago using mulch, cow and rabbit manure. I grow veggies in it each season and then leave the left-over plant material until just before the new season. Its's full of worms and shit, and grows some lush veggies.

I took this soil and used in pots for this current grow and have feed with organic teas. It has got me wanting to learn more about living soils and grow more pure methods of feeding the microorganisms in the soil and not the plant, to the point I only use water.

I have started clones from these to use for an outdoor grow in the same garden I took the soil from. I figure by the time these are done I can clone from the outdoor girls and give a no-till grow with a cover crop next.

I like trying new things and the idea of having a perpetual mini ecosystem grow sounds like a lot to learn and could be rewarding
