Do not put them straight in the jars! You will rot all your buds. You will have to have a bit of smell, but it usually only lasts while they are damp, once they start to turn crispy the smell will stop. Hang them up and put as many fans on them as you can for the first few days until crisp is the only way.

The first day after trimming is definately the strongest smell,....it deminishes daily from that point. This last time I dried, (see journal) I ended up using an ozone machine inside to try and neutralize the smell inside the shed.....it seemed to work pretty well but if anyone was within 10 feet of the shed the 1st day or two I'm sure they would have been able to smell it.

Put some ground cinnamon in a pan of water and simmer it on the stove. That makes it smell like you're baking.

I use ground cinnamon in my pot-pourri pots and when people come over they think there's something good to eat, and there isn't. :)

Seriously the cinnamon/cooking idea is great. When i lived with my parents and they were out of town or out for the night and called to say they were coming home early and the house reeked of cannabis i would just put something in the oven and turn it on full blast. 1 slice of bread works real well lol (it makes a mini slice of bread lol), just smoke that place up and then it just smells like burnt food lol. Of course you probably dont want to make it smell like your kitchen is burning down though so just keep it from burning lol.

the smell has gone down so i think im o.k. yea im in colledge and i dont want to rent a place so i live with me parents. they dont like weed. but i kept fans on it and opened all the windows and it all turned out good.

How long should they dry before i put them in jars to cure?

I can second the water cure. You soak it under distilled water for a week, changing the water every day, and at the end of the week you have tasteless, odorless weed. That's awesome if that's what you want, like for smoking in a dorm or barracks. The ultimate stealth for no smell is water cured in a vaporizer.

Well, water curing has zero smell. You will of course have to dry your plants after soaking them for 7 days but they won't smell then.
