Nitrogen problem?

Hey all,

Long time no speak! I hope you are all doing well.

I am experiencing on one plant clawing leaves at the top but yellowing at the bottom. From experience and research, yellowing at the bottom is a clear sign of nitrogen deficiency. However, the clawed leaves at the top could be nitrogen toxicity... I'm confused...

I have two plants, the other one, which is much shorter, is not experiencing this issue
Based on this, I suspect the clawed leaves could be light burn? And yellowing could be nitrogen deficiency? Any confirmation would be great.

Last water/feed was
2104/ 4l of water with 2ml b, 1ml a and 1ml calmag
25/04, 4l of water with 2ml b, 0.5ml a, 1ml calmag and 0.5ml bloom

My setup
Spider farmer sf2000 evo
Led light (10 inch from top leaves)
Auto - caramel creme (free seeds I got from before lol)
Using all mix from bio bizz
Water 4l every 3rd day or so
Bcuzz atami a + b
Bio bizz calmag
Bio bizz bloom
Germinated 6th March.

Any help is appreciated.

Just looking at the pics, I wouldn’t say the upper leaves are clawed, try a bit of worm castings (N) and see if that doesn’t help

Thanks. I added some nitrogen yesterday, next water will be in 2 days or so, will compare to see if yellowing had spread further.
Clawed, is it just tips down? Never seen how it is in pics before, on 6th overall grow now

If the grow area is dry and you have a fan blowing on the leaves you can get this. It’s the rapid evaporation causing the top leaves to drink more and cause toxicity.

What’s your humidity? Do you have a strong fan blowing on the tops?

No strong fan, gentle blowing along the bottom and top
Humidity did drop to 28/35 but now usually constant 45/55

Hmm, well definatly looks like some N deficiency.
But I reckon there is more deficiencies.

No signs of overfeeding.
But quite red stems, which is phosphorus/magnesium,
here I suspect phosphorus.
So you could overall feed a little stronger solution.
Just don't overdo the nitrogen at this point anymore

You said you use 1ml of A and 2ml of B?

Why ?

Chart says equal parts .

Plus mid flower ,from a brief glance at the chart you should be using way more than that.

You can't just mix n match A n B , it's a well balanced fertiliser.

Unless you've a reason ?

It's from advice I've been given in the past, I've had successful grows before but tbh, not as dense as I would have liked. Do you have the chart available please? Maybe this will be God's send to me lol.

Thanks - I did up the A on that plant to 2.5ml - to give it a big dose of N... I'll see what happens in coming days

Did you notice the clawing after the drop in humidity? Or has it been there for a while?

To be honest, thinking about it now, it was probably that... the drop in humidity was 2 weeks ago, give or take (broken humidifier), took me 5 days or so to get it back on track... that's probs when I first noticed the claw.. or then abouts

If I were you I'd at least give them equal parts A and B

Nutrients are balanced for a reason.

Thanks. I read that chart as using equally... I'll do that going forward. Thanks.
On a previous grow, I was speaking to someone om here who was "guiding me" and suggest to adjust a and b depending on if/when deficiencies were seen (as a has different nutes to b)

I’ve had it before and even now with a plant that got too tall for my tent and is close to the light/fan.

As Corey said use equal parts until the yellowing stops. N deficiency is the easiest to resolve

Hey, just to let you know, I increased nutes as per the chart and yellowing problems have stopped... Thanks a lot for you help. I'm excited about next grow now having that chart! Cheers
