Nitrogen feed during pre-flowering period on sativa dom,a bad idea?

Hello RIU,i have a sativa dom nepalese laandrace growing on my garden.3 week earlier i added 2 tbs of blood meal and some flowering nutes and instead of flowering it's just streatching and developing more leaves.what i know, sativa dom flowers not only due to photo-period but also according to the availability to nitrogen in the soil.having nitrogen in its soil the biological defence of the plant triggers it to vegitate so that it can thrive till coming fall.here in nepal there is no frost.so plants can live till whole winter and then start to flower in spring.for ex-a plant grown in the hill where it has limited space to grow will remain really short according to avaibility of nutrients in the surrounding and also not to misuse its limited source of water.but the same strain grown in plains where the vegitation thrives, the same plant shoots its roots deep and can reach 5 to 6 feet tall.i think biological defence of my plant was telling itself,"hey since there is nitrogen in the soil why don't i live till next spring".i'd love you opinion on this.

Does it need it?

I feed reduced N through stretch, and reduce N further right after. I introduce reduced bloom nutes the feeding after if still stretching, or a full dose otherwise.

well now that i've realized that actually landrace sats dont need N on flowering hell they can strive without or very less amount of N.if we apply N during flowering we're just making them streatch more.so next time im growing it im not feeding it with N not even in veg stage.better to keep them short and help finish them in time.

That's not at all what I'm saying.

They require N. All plants do. If you put them in a hot soil you may not need to feed additional N during veg, but your plants must have it to live.

Your plants need some N in flower too, just a lot less of it. A balanced bloom nute will contain a baseline N that should carry you through.

The NPK ratio is important to each stage of growth.

Outside growing is different because of medium - plants look good - let mother nature take care of them !!! To many factor's fro outside cultivation as were indoors growing one can control all nutrients to plants - outside Mother Nature takes over for you - even if you added more "n"

Only if it's in the ground. His medium looks like potting soil. In a pot. He'll deplete N before flowering finishes, I doubt that's a living or super soil.

yes it is in pot.and what do mean by super soil?i'm from nepal and here we have no such thing as super soil.i use my garden soil, apply some refined building sand for good root ariation.i then apply, bood meal, wood ash, bone meal and egg shell.i really dont know what super soil is but i can tell u one thing my homegrown bud taste much better than the so called high grade that we score.am i missing something in my soil to call it super soil?

if u come here in nepal u can see hectors and hectors of land being grown naturally.plants grown in wild in large area where competition for food, sunlight, moisture can trigger whether to remain in veg or to flower especially landraces.these landrace bastards are tricky when it come to feeding.feed too much nitrogen and u will never see them shooting pre-flowers.only remain tall and lanky.while the fancy strain that u grow on the other side of the ocean are breeded in lab crossing 2 to 3 potent strains where it is grown indoor.here in nature only the fittest of the fittest survives(not bob marley's song, could u be loved :-D) and poor farmers of my humble country select best female plant, collect the seed and starts to grow in there house surrounding.and of course i buy ganja from them.and start to think,"hey since these farmers are not feeding these plant and the buds are good, what would have happen if i feed them properly".and after applying n in my pot my plants are getting late to flower thinking it will thrive coming season.catch my meaning brother?

All plants require N. N is in the ground, so no you may not need to add it, but plants still need it.

My point is you may need to feed because you are in pots. Your soil sounds pretty decent, but without the ground being there for the roots to keep growing toward more nutrients, you may deplete your soil before harvest.

Oh, and supersoil is a charged soil that is supposed to be designed to last a full grow without having to water in nutrients.

Man, all I know is that if I lived in Nepal, I would be smoking a LOT of hash. Why bother growing when you are surrounded by some of the best hash in the world?

It looks good. All plants need N. They burn through it fast when they stretch.

Outdoors is different than indoors. Most indica's will start flowering at about 14 hours of light.

Sativas, especially pure ones, may not flower until 12 hours light some even less. Sativas tend to be equatorial strains. They tend to get a steady 12/12 from seed. Some may not flower until they hit a certain age or get less than 12 hours light a day.

If you need to, put a box over the plant to reduce the daylight hours and induce flowering if need be.

yes u are right nepal has best hash.but do you how that hash is made?uneducated poor farmer living in the hills grow it.they dont feed the plant, hell they dont even water it.they have no knowledge about male plants.males die fully pollenating females and they beat those seeded bud and make pollem(it's like the kif but we call it pollem here in other side of the ocean).trust me friend when these landrace sativas finish unpollenated there buds are so sticky and kicks ass 3 times than any other hash or pollem.im sick of smoking pollem and hash btw
