Nirvana's Aurora Indica - 400w Mh, Soil

Well here we go again.

I grew for my first time almost 2 years ago, with the same AI seeds. If you saw my last journal you know I'm far from experienced, and I don't have a lot of resources, especially fiscally. This time I'll be rockin' a 400w Mh rather than the the fluros, and the eventual 400w hps. This time I've planted 3 instead of 1. So far 4 of the attempted 4 have popped. Still soil, this time Royal Gold Basement Mix (Fitting, since they're in a basement). So far, no nutes. Started with fluror, now under MH.

As for last grow...
For those that were waiting for a smoke report, I'm sorry, never got around to it. I probably would have written a nice detailed report, but the AI bud left me underwhelmed, and my interest waned. Here is what I remember of it(Been a while)...
-Fluffy -Fruity -Surprisingly impotent -LOTS of red hairs(??) -Overall a couch lock high
I don't know what went wrong, or if the strain was just weak, but I'm giving it another go. My posts will probably be more brief this time, now that I have a notch on my belt, but I'm still new and could use any advice.

TWO PICS of My First AI. And the new sprouts

Picked up some vegetative nutes' from Lowe's. 8-4-4. Prob hit up the hydro store for flowering, but this seems ok for now. What do you guys think?
Also, one AI is leaning heavily, I don't know why. I moved it so hopefully it will bend back straight. Overall they seem pretty healthy.

It's alright. Repositioned it and now it's straight again. Guess there just a bit stretched still from the fluros

If you previously flowered under flouros, that might be why your bud turned-out weak.
I'm also growing AI. I'm about 2 weeks into flowering under a 250w CMH. Using FFOF soil & FF Nutes.
Mine have also been leaning. So I tied the plants a plastic picnic knife in each pot to keep them erect.
Later, I'll put a wooden stake in the pots, because the little picnic knives aren't gonna cut-it for too much longer!
In one sense, I sort-of hope it is kinda weak by todays standards, because I haven't toked since the 70's!
I just want something relaxing, kinda like having a few beers, but without the ruined liver! heehee!
Good luck with your grow bro!

Thanks for stoppin' by Mike and medical, I always appreciate any comments or suggestions. Hope your AI turns out nice medical. I used FF soil and nutes last time and my plants grew very nicely, although the bud left something to be desired. But then again if you haven't smoked since the 70's I don't think it will matter! The AI should meet your criteria nicely, it a nice mellow, smooth smoke. And good luck to you also

Here you go, took these yesterday. The walls are being replaced with a space blanket now witch will hopefully help reflect more light. All the plants want to lean over a lot, possibly because they were stretched a bit under the fluros. I have a feeling they're going to love the fertilizer, gave them all their first dose recently. I expect growth to pic up. Oh and check out this ganja i picked up the other day

Ok so i noticed some yellow blotches on a couple leaves today. What would cause this condition? Hot spots from the space blanket?? Also one plant decided to totally tip on it's side. Maybe I'll just let it grow like that and LST it.

That's not what nute burn looks like(at least not how I've seen it)... some sort of pest seems more likely, or a hot spot, but I doubt it. There were little bugs in the soil of the last plants, if you remember, but I haven't seen anything on these. Who knows what kinda critters are creepin around down there though?

Does anyone know what those spots could have been caused by? I'd like to know even though i'm not too worried.
I think I'll top all three tomorrow, stay tuned...

FIMmed 1 plant(In the second picture). It was pretty difficult because the new growth was sandwiched tightly between leafs. Hopefully it will turn out nicely. Didn't take any pictures because the leaves around it have already grown up and it would have been near impossible in such a small space. The leaning-lady has been hooked down in an attempt to get it to eventually wrap around the pot. Never tried this, so any suggestions would be particularly appreciated concerning the LST technique. Overall they're lookin' good!DSCN2288.jpgDSCN2282.jpgDSCN2286.jpgDSCN2283.jpgDSCN2281.jpgDSCN2289.jpg

Thanks. The fan hits 2 at a time, but I rotate them almost every day. I don't have a ph meter but I'm thinking about picking one up.

ph meter or drops is a good thing to have. will helps stop nute lockout by soil not going to high or low of ph. i have both drops($7) and a meter($25 on ebay) plus a soil ph digital meter.

You're thinking about picking one up?
(Slaps-forehead) OiVay!
DUDE! Come-on!
Having correct PH is VITAL to your plants health and therefore THC production!
This is THE most fundamental thing you HAVE to do is make-sure your PH is correct!

This is the kinda advice I post a journal for; good solid info to better my plants. I used to have one put it didn't work too great, and I can't find it now anyways. I assume my ph is decent but I guess your right I should get another fo sho
