You often get what you pay for when buying seeds.........Nivana is OK, but not an "A" level seed bank by any stretch of the imagination.
Nirvana packs tend to only have 1 nice lady per 10 pack. They are a pheno hunting kind of seed stock. Ive found 3-4 phenos that would hold their own with any elite, but the other 100+ plants out of those seed packs was not good, lol.

Its kind of like buying a pack of baseball cards hoping for an insert.

Nirvana's 'ICE' is fairly stinky. It was bred using old Shiva skunk, afghan and something else. I couldn't keep it because of the smell. I'll give it a go again once prohibition ends in NY

I grew it outroors in 2011 with dinafem Diesel, easily better than dinafem's offering, which was sweet.

Weird, I seen a post where someone asked him if it was nirvana and he said yes! So maybe he is just fucking with people but it is probably one of those two.
Well maybe whoever it was talked to ONI, my convo in pm was with Harry Palms. He told me that his keeper of KC Brains is the only old Dutch genetics he uses. Either way mango and papaya are the same genetics, Nir just f2'd them.

I wouldn't dought what they wasn't further down the line than f2s, a lot of the European breeders, unlike American breeders, take thier lines to f3,4,5 before they are released.

seedsman sells the fire for more than the american breeders do in america...just buy from them direct, the US banks are still cheaper than ordering american genetics from overseas. Useful is 60 a pack, bodhi is 70, brisco's beans are only 40 a pack. Stop using the shitty euro banks.

By F2 I mean they copied it from KC seeds. I'm sure they have used plenty of mom's and dad's threw the years.
Upon further reading now im not sure they used KC Brains exact genetics. I am left a bit confused. KC used the original mango that dates back to the 60s and crossed it with KC33 and thats the mango they represent today. Now while it says Nirvana copied or got there idea from KC Brains it doesnt go into detail, but does say papaya was created by crossing citral #13 x ice#2 by which they put there own twist on it and from a little bit of reading it seems the papaya is the preferred choice. So going by that bit of info i dont see no copying, they just recreated it.

Well as you may know Dutch breeders are notorious for never giving their true parentage out. So all I know for sure is KC said they used an old afghani x kc33 outside of that who knows.
As for Nirvana they were known to copy/f2 everyones strain from AK47, Bubblegum, White widow etc.So much so that even Sensi Seeds opened a copycat bank (White Label). Nirvana always says its something else but it's not. Now that was early 2k could they be breeding now, yes they could be but IDK. I do know that back then they weren't breeding shit just f2/copy and rename Jock horror, AK48, papaya.

You get like one keeper for every dozen seeds, meaning 11 plants will suck balls and 1 good one, aka unstable genetics...Honestly I found out the hardway and crap ton of breeders have this problem..
Thats why theyre only $20.

Do people expect the same quality of gear from a $20 pack as a $100 pack?

I plan on running my ppp and either papaya or mango skunk in a couple months. I'll post pics of the whole grow when I do. Im fairly confident I'll inspire people to do some pheno hunting in nirvana strains once bud pics start rolling in.

If the all suck Ill be first to let yall know.

White Label made BOG, didn they. There was some fire in some of that old White Label stuff. I'd always heard back in the day, Nirvana got the mom's or seeds and crossed everything to either a skunk1 or afghani.

Nirvana isn't supposed to be grown with just a single pack or a single fem seed. I always go with 40 seeds per variety, because those folks charging 100+ aren't really providing stability either lmao, be it landrace or s1 there will always be variation, some people prefer indica Dom, some sativa dom. On the topic of Nirvana in particular, they usually have over 4 phenotypes per hybrid, like Ice and Aurora indica and Bubblelicious all have 'sativa' phenotypes that are my favorite versions despite their parentage being afghan, bubblegum, NL, skunk. The stuff they keep selling is the reliable high yield/quality line, so you do have to go looking or get lucky. eventually I know I'll revisit ice and the Bubblelicious, I lost plants due to error many years ago, I could easily sort through 40 each without it costing much other than soil. Some brands you are given a photograph and are expected to find that 1/100 phenotype anyway. Alphakronic, swerve, and a few others who used to frequent here did similar shit. Spent over 1k looking for a legit blackwater plant from Cali connection and wound up with stuff that was worse than the gear I spent nearly 100 on. If the seeds are inexpensive, it's like playing a cheap lottery with very high payoff.

With my experience, I wouldn't say all the other phenos sucked, I had a few decent plants with one stand out. Also worth mentioning the male to female ratio was close to 50:50, but i usually had more females. Back when i bought mine they were 24 bucks a pack, idk what theyre going for now, but i agree with Eso what more can you expect from a twenty dollar pack of seeds. Damn well worth it to me. Would i rather grow some of the more well known breeders packs? Sure! But when you take into consideration they cost 5 to 10 times more, idk! I guess it would depend on a guys space. 10-12 seeds for $200 vs 80-100 seeds for $200. I guess theres a lot of different perspectives here, but for the budget grower theres a lot of fire to be found.

Yes BOG used White Label seeds Bubblegum . White label seeds were made by Sensi using their moms so they were exactly the same. I believe technically the bubblegum clone used by Sensi was given to him by Adam when he worked for Sensi before starting CIA which became KGB and then THseeds.

All those 'vouching' for Nirvana should only do so if they purchased within the last 2 years. I bought 3 different packs of regulars from herbies and 90% were duds.
Someone said the Head man at Nirvana hasn't been around for years.
Buyer beware.

That sucks, similar thing happened to flying Dutchman, their pot of gold was my favorite Indica, but you need like 50 plants to find the right pheno now.
