the lower fans may have gone by, but the buds remain green
and the buds are definitely still swelling, and they are dense
it's a strange sight, as the pics do show
bud yield seems to say it was fed sufficiently
but i haven't seen another PPP grow log that had this pheno

also, my white strain also (ww) seems to be headed to different ripening colors; lighter colors in general. This is where different indicators of when a plant is done (like trichs growing inwards in "zeus take..." here on RIU) may come in handy isn't it? c ya

so trichome time has arrived, was really overdue, got a bit lazy
this is the tip of what would have been the main cola
which should be one of the riper spots
not much amber, hardly any, maybe a few here and there
but frosty indeed, the lower part of the pic looks like a bright halo
thats from a small bud leaf, which is covered in trics, but just out of focus
and the upper part of the pic is just freaky
looks like some jeweled octopus from outer space

8 1/2 weeks of flowering
so i've popped her out of the grow chamber for a side profile
it's not a pound, but it's a nice haul for 78w of cfl
and bud is dense, just as dense as my NL grows, if not more
and i will call this a 'no odor control' strain
a very light odor, and doesn't carry from the grow area at all

wow.. looks pretty close to being done man. =) wen u plannin on choppin her down?? and lmao.. those leaves look funny. almsot dont even look like leaves anymore?? lol. r u gonna keep it like that?? or u gonna trim off the dead leaves?? it might help.. cuz the plant will stop puting energy into those leaves, and focus more on the buds themselves.. just an idea. doesnt really matter anywayz.. ur almost done. =) those buds do look wicked dense.. theyre like lil rocks!! well... boulders i should say. =)

trimmed them right after the pic, thought it made a pretty freaky picture like that, kind of different
she still has a little ways to go, lot of clear trichomes, got to be > 70% clear
which might be a touch racy, so i think one more week

well, i have cheated a bit, got a fresh zip of nl#5 that i harvested a month ago
but you're right that it's just enough
this has been my plan, just enough to keep me supplied till next harvest
small grows are much better where i live if there should some 'accident' with local law enforcement(knock wood!)

looking great man! u actually got an oz off 78w cfl for veg AND flower?? thats not too shabby at all especially considering how little electricity u used up. ill be waiting for some cure porn and smoke report! thinking i may even try this myself...did you cut any fan leaves when you lst'd?

it is pretty amazing what you can do when you get cfl's up tight
that can be the downside, need to be careful to get them just right, which can take some time
fan leaves were left on, until they died of natural causes
i will definitely toss up bud porno's and smoke report

another adventure with the smallest grow setup i could make

and as finished as it looks, the buds are still growing
i could see a noticeable difference in the last 24 hours
a skilled PPP grower said a lot of weight gets packed on in weeks 8-9
and it looks like he is right, maybe Sunday for the cut
the pistils seem to be changing very fast now

Yeah man, the last pictures dont seem to be too clear to indicate besides the really nice macro of the top of one of the buds. However, I believe once the trichomes have all become cloudy is when you can harvest, or obviously you can wait longer.... But I just finished reading this whole thread, really great job for only 78 watts! Just goes to show if you utilize most of your light and no light leaks, you can have some awesome bud.

i'm really hoping for the cloudy to come on fast now, the main cola really seemed to change color overnight
thanks for look, i've been quietly experimenting with low watt grows
it can be done, but it can be a pain to position everything just right in the grow chamber
so far, the trade off has been worth it to me, i love the tiny power bill

It should IMO just look ready when it is ready, but its always best to check the trichomes. Seems to me the main cola is "ripening" or at least that's my way of saying its getting ready. I wouldn't harvest if you have alot of white hairs though. I would definitely wait until they mostly all turn red/brown, or amber colored. I mean the hairs don't really say too much in regards to being ready to harvest but it sure has helped me. Be patient though because impatience will only give you lesser of a bud quality than if you harvest at just the right time for it. The last week or so, the colas just tend to fatten up, or become ripe as I like to say. I mean lets say you grow an apple tree, you pick all the tiny green apples the size of a half dollar..sure they taste good in their own right, but they are not fully matured yet and do not taste as sweet and delicious as a fully grown apple that has been given time to mature.

And plus I would just go with my gut instinct and not what other peoples grow times were, since everyone's bud will not be exactly the same thing every time around due to the environment, and conditions it is in. I hope you get an ounce or more off this plant because that would be awesome for low wattage. My honest guess is about 90-100 grams wet.
