Hi mate

Yes, its odd how 2 plants are very short and the other 2 are are slower. All 4 showed sex within a couple of days of each other so I guess its just genetics. I have found before with growing Nirvana NL's that there are at least 2 obvious phenos, one tall and one short and bushy so maybe thats it. I'm glad I got a cut off the slowest one as shes REALLY stretched and developed some stagering side branching for a 12/12 from seed grow! I'm keeping it as a mother for the future

But I still feel that the sphag moss is doing its stuff I'm watering every other day now and the pots are drying out well BUT the moss remains moist all the time with no ill effects at all, infact quite the opposite!

Anyway, the next 4/5 weeks should prove interesting hopefully

I'm just waiting on my very last Bubba O Kush seedplant to show sex ...... plan is to keep just a couple of small bonsai style mothers in 4" pots....... AND I'm planning to do the stealthy PC case jobby to keep them in, inspired by your good self V12. I have a few questions but I'll take a read back through your thread first mate.

It is weird how the moss is wet even when everything else is bone dry. Has to be good though. A bit like having a reserve tank
I really look forward to seeing how you utilise a pc case. Reviewing my thread will knock your plans back a week though
I'm moving towards using cuttings after seeing what you do. I have 4 now so I'm nearly ready to start my new experiment. I'm going to try out a perpetual sog.
Obviously it's still true that the grass is always greener on the other side huh?

My eldest clone grew 2 inches yesterday so I'm getting a bit anxious

Hi V12 mate

Cuttings are the way to go... BUT I do find seedplants more vigorous for 12/12 grows. That said I'm also switching to cuts from now, both NL cuts are showing roots through the jiffy plugs Also, the last Bubba O Kush seed IS female so I'll pull her out and let her revert to veg mode and she will be kept in a 4" pot as my first mother

Perpetual SOG sounds good, look forward to seeing what you do with it.

UPDATE DAY 44, 12/12 from seed.

Not much to report today! Had a good flush yesterday to clear any build up in that moss layer on the bottom. 2litres of water per pot, PH 6.2. Good run off.

Day 47, 12/12 from seed.

Yep, theyre not going too badly v12 Touch of burn on some fans but budding up OK.

Had a watering of biobizz 'bloom' today.

The 2 cuttings I took are both rooted and potted up (pic below)

And my very last Bubba O Kush seed WAS female so will be my first mother plant to keep. I'll keep her in a 5" pot.

The new 'Mother and Baby' wing is now open

Well, I was planning to get myself an old PC case to use as a veg box...BUT the Mother In Law was disposing of a nice solid wood cabinet with a small cupboard at the bottom so I decided to grab it!

Here it is, just a fan and a couple of CFL's a 6400k and a 2700k that I had spare. All I plan to do is to keep 2 small mothers (a Bubba O Kush & a Northern Lights) and a couple of cuttings at any one time. This should do fine.

Pics show the new unit and the existing flower cabinet.

Looks a bit like Howard Marks crashed into the Antiques Roadshow

Day 50 today from seed.

Took a pic last night after lights off into the NL's. Bit of yellowing on fans so I'll give them a touch of PK 13/14 next watering maybe but I'm not too worried.

The new box is on 18/6 cycle BUT I intend to use it only for keeping the 2 mums and establishing roots on cuts etc.... its not a veg box as such.

......Anyway its proving popular!!!

your plants look great. my nl plants stretched too much too much heat and light too high, but now i know. also, love the wallace and gromit stuffed toys, that is one of mine and my son's favorite shows

Today is day 51. 12/12 from seed grow. Heres a shot of the plants outdoors enjoying the sunshine, they sparkle like gems outdoors and I love to see that

Update: day 51.12/12 from seed, Northern Lights, CFL's with LST!

Thought I'd take a shot in the box at lights off. I estimate about another 28 days to finsh them -ish

Also the 2 NL clones now rooted and the Bubba O Kush mother to be !

nice, i think im going to have to try your method, i only read the first and last page of this thread but it seems like it works out pretty well for you and im in the same boat you are with the whole space thing, i can fit 4 pots on my closet but thats it and the last grow i had after harvest i took the roots outside to look at them and they didnt take up nearly as much room as i gave them. I'd like to grow a few more plants since im not the only toker in my house and that would allow me to do 8 with the lst, i havent ever lst before

also sorry but i wanted to ask you got your seeds from nirvana? i wanted to buy seeds but am a bit paranoid when it comes to it, did you have any problems ordering from them? i'd be a little paranoid about having them send to my house

Re: cannabis seeds, well here in the UK seeds remain legal to purchase but illegal to cultivate!! How insane and messed up is our law? But most good seed sellers are good at stealthy/protective packaging.

I've been ordering seeds online for about 12 years and never had any problems in that way.

Well, I'm on the home straight now, about 3 weeks or so to finish. The buds are all starting to fatten up now. One pot has a touch of burn around the fans, I have a theory that the Sphagnum Moss that lines the pots may have retained some excess ferts due its moisture holding capability and my 2 litre flush last week caused a release and a sudden uptake. Not too woried they will finish just fine now though

Had a single shot of Canna PK13/14 yesterday to give those buds a boost! They are begining to REEK !

Just to bring my thread back into focus here are the first 53 days in a series of notated pics, from day 11 to present, same angles etc so development can be easily seen. The last 3 were taken today at day 53.

Plants look great. Can't really spot any burn but I suspect you may be right about the nutes being held in the bottom layer. I've just put another hempy on 12/12 but with moss instead of perlite so let's see how that performs.

Spot of bad news for the upcoming Space Ritual gigs. The Woodstock festival they were booked for has now been cancelled. I just rang to make sure they still had tickets for the warm up gig on Friday night and was told I would be fine paying on the door as there's still a raft of tickets left. The place only holds 250. Hopefully it will still be a great night.

Hi mate, sorry to hear about the gigs, but hope the warm up gig goes well. I think the economic situation is affecting the live music scene too. Our friend who plays lead guitar in a local band (she gives our youngest daughter weekly lessons for free ), said its getting really hard to get any bookings at all. Anyway, have a good time.

END OF WEEK 8.

I'm seeing those buds swell visibly now each day. On the down side I have taken a fair bit of burn to the fans, probably overfeeding but they had a good flush and all new growth remains green and healthy, I'm only looking at another 3 weeks to finish them.

Pics show the bud development, there are more on the 'back' of the big plant at left, I think shes really going to give a healthy yield. Buds smell very sweet and citrus like, very different from my usual Bubba O Kush.

I think the citrus strains are wonderful to grow and smoke. I was bowled over the first time I bought some California Orange. Kind of like smoking Vodka Orange

I can only see a couple of burned leaves and they seem to be in the middle of the plant. When I've burned plants it manifests at the top, so maybe it isn't burn.
What's with the neem?
Saw a fab toker solution on here yesterday for bugs. Meant to bookmark it but forgot. Some guy left a half eaten bowl of shreddies next to his grow when he crashed out and it caught and drowned about 50 gnats overnight, yet all the strips and sprays he tried were doing nothing!
Just a thought.

Really looking forward to tonight. Think you are right about the economic climate. It's seems a travesty to see such a legendary band reduced to playing helf empty 250 seat venues.
I'll let you know how it goes.

They look great to me I wouldn't mind a few of those, i just might try the 12/12 from the start
