Nirvana Mixed Fems:WARNING

Hey guys just thought Id share my most recent expirience with Nirvana. I'd been using Nirvana exclusively for a while, growing out bubblelicious and ak48 with no real complaints, other than their strains being so damn unstable. In my last order I decided to throw in a Mixed pack of feminized seeds, 10 in total. Of these 10 seeds, 3 showed male preflowers and were chopped. Of the remaining 7, 5 Hermied at 2 weeks flower. The last 2 showed healthy female growth until week 4 when they both hermied. No light leaks, inside a secret jardin with no light leaks. They were grown alongside 10 AK48 fems, none of which have yet to hermie on me, so cant help but feel like I got fucked on the "mixed pack". Lesson learned, I wont ever buy feminized seeds from nirvana again. Well I personally wont EVER use nirvana again, but just because I know how frustrating poor genetics/breeding can be on a grower. Just a heads up!

Welllll, their seeds are OK. A good value, really.

You just hafta focus on a strain at a time and pick the best looking female to make a mother out of.

There's no fast way to get the good stuff.

I would never recommend purchasing a cheap feminized strain. Hermies are common in feminized varieties.

Go for a proven strain in the same price range. You will get better genetics and probably a better yield- even with the 50% M/F rate.

Everybody blames the seeds when 99% of the time its grower error. Too funny. I love Nirvana beans, never an issue even with the mix packs.

This is as true as it gets. Nirvana gear has been incredibly reliable for me in the past and if anything really forgiving. The things with seeds is some are crap....I had 4 of 5 MK's from Nirvana that were shit sativa pheno's, I talked to Alice at customer service and they sent me 5 more for free. Not many other seed banks do that.

Just to be clear to all the loyal nirvana customers, I am not saying Nirvana is crap. I am just giving a heads up the their MIXED pack was not up to par with any of their other strains I have grown. I loved my gorgeous purple bubblelicious and my icey white ak's! Just the mixed that were fucked, leading me to believe it is from a different source than their popular strains. NONE of my AK48 Fems from Nirvana hermied, and they were grown EXACTLY the same.

that sucks man. I have been using nirvana fem. northern lights for a while . I have had good results. I usually grow all plants from seed. I can see the different phenos among the plants but they are all decent quality. I would be suprised if alice wouldnt replace them if you ask.

I had that same shit happen to me. Ordered 5 feminized MK & 5 feminized mixed seeds, vegged 6 weeks and started to flower. I didnt get any male preflowers, but 2 weeks into flower balls started showing up on the mixed seeds, and by week 4 they were all confirmed hermies....not a single hermie from the MK grown side by side.

I wouldn't chop anything with "male pre-flowers" until I flower it to check for sure. Sometimes your first opinion is wrong. Different strains will have different looks. It isn't like the male pollen is instantly going to open and wreck your crop. If you are looking, you can easily catch it later and get rid of it at that point. I think you jumped the gun a little bit.

I apologize, however I'm growing Nirvana Bubblelicious from seed and am on my 3rd grow with them. I've had no issues. I'm sorry that your experience was different.

Dont let 1 pack of seeds ruin your experience. Like rev said Alice is awesome, u can ask any 1 here they have no prob replacing your order and may be throw ya some freebies who knows.

I am confident that the 3 with male pre-flowers were male, at the point I chopped them all 10 showed preflower 7 clearly female, 3 clearly male. I even kept the plants in ? in my coat closet with the light on to make sure they continued to show male preflowers, which they did.

I only started this thread so that people looking into purchasing FEMINIZED MIXED seeds from nirvana would stray away and instead stick to one of the strains nirvana does right. Every nirvana advocate on this forum doesnt need to defend them.

Ill try and contact alice monday and let you guys know she says.

Alot of the time people DO NOT know the differance between a male and a female....

I recently purchased 5 fem NorthLight from nirvana and 3 turned out to be male!
