Right now your not going to have any problems with smell but when these begin to bud they are going to smelllllll so get a canfan and think about the discharge air..

something like this with dryer vent running to a chimney vent a high window will work in a pinch just remember if it exits the house/Apartment low its gonna smell out there too.

Thanks for the suggestion because the smell is something me and my friend have been thinking about for a while now. We haven't settled on a solution just yet but that fan looks pretty enticing.


Busy weekend but the plants have really grown. As a first timer watching it grow so far has really been a pleasure. No pics for this update but later on tonight I should have some up on here. Until then, I'll just light another one.

Pictures, finally.

Two weeks in and we've got 4 really healthy plants and 1 really really good looking plant. The little one is just little.

Potential problem though, it looks like we're only going to have 9 more weeks of time to grow, 11 total. So what do we do? Do we flower a bit early, cutting time off of veg. Or do we harvest prematurely? Any advice?

Will 2 1/2 weeks of veg. and 8 1/2 weeks of flower be any good?

Is 3 and 8 any better? They say AK-48 flowers fast but I just want to know the best way to go about this especially from someone with experience with this strain.

Those are some fine ass plants. I just put my AK into flower after it reached 12" and had at 6 nodes. I wanted to veg longer but like you, I got shit happening where they have to be outa here in 60 days. I opted to go 8 weeks flower, sacrificing veg time for flower time. I figure less bud but mature and kick ass is better than more bud and not so kick ass. You can't rush the flower time.

Thank you for the compliment. But yea that's what I was thinking, the latest I wanted to flower was sunday making it 19 days veg. unfortunate but I'd definitely take quality buds over rushing the flowering any time.

Beautiful plants you have going. You're cutting your time incredibly tight, almost too tight. Say you throw them into flower today. Here's the thing - they are still gonna veg until they are sexually mature. You can only force it so much. Starting 12/12 will speed it up, but not the way you would like. So - once she actually begins flowering, then you're looking at your entire flower time, from there. Once flowered - you'll need at least a week for drying, as well.

they look great so far, I started Growbig @ day 10. sinse AK is a sativa/indica hybrid it should be tolerant to some heat, but you don't want to rush it. day 14 would be just as good. Start with a heavy feeding on your first day, then pull back to 1 teaspoon per gallon. I love this strain its a great smoke

Your set-up is really nice I like home made operations. you did a good job. I'll be watchin this enjoy your first grow your gonna learn alot through it. +rep for the set-up!

P.S

let them veg for 30 days it will take about that long to see preflowers @ 18-6 if you go 12/12 before the pre-flowers develop you are adding stress to the plant.

Hey thanks. Yea it's going to be a real nail biter. Should make for a suspenseful reading journal lol. But no we're trying to think about the best way of going about this because there's nothing we can do about the time constraint.

Yeah we started with a half strength Grow Big solution over here at around day 12 but if we had known a stronger solution wouldn't totally burn the plants we would have done that. So far they've responded great to the nutes. Thanks for your kind words about our setup. Not too bad for a first grow on a budget. We're over here looking for a house with an extra room to convert into a grow room for the next grow. Hopefully we'll have enough space to set up separate veg. and flower rooms with some curtains made out of panda plastic, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Took a look at your album, really nice plants. Looks like our plants are in similar stages of development. AK-48 really is a great looking strain.


So what to do about flowering? Should we gradually start cutting back the hours and then switch out the MH bulb for the HPS when it gets to 12/12 or what?
