For anyone seaching a specific 120 mm fan type for reducing fan noise:
I replaced the stock fans in my Mars reflectors (3 fans in each, 9 fans in total) with these from Amazon:
ARCTIC P12 - 120 mm Case Fan, Pressure-optimised, quiet motor, Computer, Fan Speed: 1800 RPM - Black, Black
Rated at the same flow and pressure . I measure the noise level change with a proper DB meter.
Before (1 unit, 3 fans) :
57db (60 db is the equivalent of "Conversation in restaurant, office, background music, Air conditioning unit at 100 feet. ")
After:
42db (40 is the equivalent of "Library, lowest limit of urban ambient sound ").
Or another way to see it it WAs nearly three times louder than it is now.
Prett much silent is the result.
Just put it up to help people choose fans. They were 5gpb each but can be had for 3gbp in packs of 5.
