NFTG. Nectar For The Gods

What size pot?
When building soil, I utilize #4 and add close to a cup of one shot to a 10-gal (or one bag of #4) pot. Along with this, and to further help with Ph issues, I also add about 3/4 cup of Calcite (DTE Garden Lime) to help with the inevitable acidity that NFTG seems to induce (esp later in the flowering cycle around w4/5). Transplant your smalls into this - but ensure that you use some non-hot soil to line the hole (add some mycorrhizae too!) and rock on. Seems to help a lot; I've slowly evolved this
First NFTG grow… two 3x3 tents, LED, 2 plants in each. Day 32

Tent 1 ”All Gas OG” by HSC and a bagseed from some dank Sour Power OG

Yumm; I want to try the All Gas OG; I have a Raspberry Parfait and a Blueberry Cupcake going through the veggie paces now.

Plants look good; maybe a slight P deficiency (or an early lower fade) could be happening? Nothing alarming though. Any purple streaking on the stems? I am still, after myriad runs, trying to get P servings right. Always something; especially with different cultivars all the time.

Hella is a quick strain right? Some of those HSCs ones are <50 days - crazy. Blueberry Muffin is supposed to be really great.

No, not at all. And Triton's Trawl smells like someone's ass exploded with a fountain of rotten dead nasty shit. If my nugs smelled like that I'd run for the hills. Remember, there's chemistry at work here; this reminds me of the old school "back in the day" grow tips where people would say you could add shit like grape juice to your watering to "flavor" your stuff. Hah.

The process of uptake into the plant and conversion into glucosides is a metabolic process of the plant. Similar to when you eat food and your body converts it into a usable form that then becomes skin, blood, etc. The energy created from photosynthesis is the fuel that induces development; whether this is mitosis for more growth and/or if this relates to terpene development and other artifacts of this metabolic process.

In fact, I've been amazed at how tasty the nugs end up after pouring what smells like a cesspool of the nastiest rank shit you've ever smelled into their containers. But I've never smoked a nug that has come out after heavy and sustained Triton's usage (~30ml/gal for weeks) that even remotely resembled that stank ass smell.

If you have a nug that smells like Tritons Trawl - smack your breeder with a large dead fish and run for the hills.
Yeah I just figured maybe buds were absorbing it from evaporation in the tent…maybe whoever said that was foliar spraying the buds with it

Yeah, but only on the All Gass OG. I was starting to adjust feeds per plant but figured I’d just find a happy medium. All 3 want something different…like a bunch of crybabies that want different candybars…can’t just be happy splittin one together smh.

I grew out their Lemon Grass and Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Both fantastic. Both really potent too but the Lemon Grass still kicks my ass like the first day smoking it. Great swiss army knife type of high, lemon pledge smell. The Pineappleupsidedowncake (hate typing the whole name lol) smelled like a jelly filled donut with icing while it was flowering. Dried and cured it’s more like a blueberry muffin, so I imagine their actual Blueberry Muffin is awesome. The high from PUDC is very calming, no real body high to speak of. It calms your mood but doesn’t make you tired. Go jogging after smoking it and you’ll feel like you’re flying through the wind in a movie lol.

The All Gas OG smells like burnt motor oil and then lemon eases in. No idea what the high will be but hoping for some good night time stuff. Literally chose this one because the description says…

“This skunky smoke will leave you feeling like you’ve been bitten by a snake”

SOLD! Here’s my $$$ haha

I have a few more of their seeds..
Strawberry Cheesecake
Pistachio
Humboldt Sour Diesel

They seem to be doing some awesome work over there, can hermie on indoor grows but I plucked balls on PUDC and didn’t get a single seed in the whole plant.

Yeah with these organic nutrients like Triton's kraken photo plus stuff that smells real bad I feel like if you're in a closed up tent with poor exhaust your whole house would probably smell like that shit. I always exhaust my tent outside and keep it running 24/7. I wouldn't fully your feed anything in flower either. Except for Bloom khaos and I stop that week 2 of flower before there's any buds on the plant. Sometimes I also used Lost Coast plant therapy in flower to prevent mold and mildew but you can use that all the way up until harvest.

That's great to hear that the HSC strains are fire! I also have the Humboldt Sour D (and also their Old Growth OG) which I'm hoping to pop in the next run. I can only grow 4x at a time in the state I live in - so I do 2x veg and 2x flower - it drags out the pheno hunting for sure...but I can't wait to run them!

The Raspberry Parfait seemed really interesting as it was the output of what sounded like their largest pheno hunt ever. And it is supposed to be super pungent and all of that good stuff. She looks pretty good so far in veg. Fingers crossed.

The Vanilla Frosting strain sounds interesting too. There's a good level of positive feedback on that one; especially for trichome development and yada yada.

So many strains, so little time.

Here’s the PUDC on chop day, then dried.

It was my first grow… I got sick of all the PGR buds everyone was selling after legalization and ended up with better quality just letting it grow how it grows lol. It got me hooked. Can’t wait to hear how your Raspberry Parfait turns out! I almost grabbed that one, but so many to choose from and they all sounded so good haha.

Edit: this was grown with a synthetic 1 part crap nutrient in coco, can’t wait to run it again with nectar.

Looks pretty awesome for 1 part crap nutes. Nice genetics for the win!

In my flower tent, the two I'm running currently are Slurricane #7 S1 (In House) and then Grandpa's Stash R2 (Ethos). Grandpa has been interesting and is stacking on thick gnarly colas - I'm slowly upping BK and she seems to be one that can take it without much issue - or at least thus far here at Day 33. Supposed to be a ~60 day strain or such; can't wait to see the swell on her.

Nice. Couple buddies of mine grew those Grandpas Stash and liked it. I’ve been wishing I had the dime to throw at AKbeanbrains he’s got some killer genetics like NL5 and Catpiss. I hear good things about his seeds, which are all old school legends. I don’t really pheno hunt though, just going through my seed packs for variety. I’m hoping All Gas OG gives me some of those old school dank gassy terps. And hoping Sour Power gives me that good ECSD fuel and grapefruit. As for Hella Jelly, I hear it’s sorta like Blue Dream in terps and high profile. Sounds like a good time.

That’s a nice looking plant! Healthy & happy! Have you been growing for a while? I haven’t messed with BK yet but I do have it. What’s your favorite breeder..or individual plant that you’ve grown so far?

Thanks! I'm on my third run now with NFTG. The first run was one hell of a learning experience. Second run was a lot better but I still struggled with the Ph challenges like a mo fo (I use RO water, which, for me, makes for an acidic headache late in flowering with NFTG). This current run seems to be my best so far (I still have time to screw it up though, lol). BK has been a learning event for me for sure that has induced a ton of research (via lots of time watching Scott on Utoob as well as via the Nectar Bible, etc.) and even via pinging Scott himself for feedback. I am still, after my 1st run experience, terrified to use BK as a foliar (I had massive chicken claws of my own ignorant doing in my first NFTG run) and it definitely seems like something you want to "ease" into versus just dropping the hammer. One of the professional growers that Scott refers to is "Pig Farmer" (Heroes of the Farm (https://heroesofthefarm.com/) fame) and he refers to BK as the "throttle" - use it , in concert with TONs of Herc, and it should ramp growth up like crazy. What I found in my 2nd NFTG grow was that I added it too quickly and, along with the aforementioned acidic issues, it ushered in a Ca (and maybe Mg) deficiency really quickly around week 5. The crop limped across the line and was still good (Greenpoint) but I probably attenuated the true potential due to my aggressive behaviors.

This run, I've slowly eased into BK - starting with ~2ml/gal and working up from there to current levels of ~5-6ml (hoping to get to around 10ml by week 7 or so and then ramping back off for flush. Obviously you have to honor the 6:1 herc/bk ratio (if not even more) and ensure you have the right ph and no deficiencies. Else, BK is going to show those deficiencies SUPER FAST. Sort of like revving your car up and running into the wall, I guess. But, it seems to be pretty "enabling" if you have all things right. I'm still learning for sure. Cerces has been an interesting P augment; seems to be a faster available form vs. bovine bone meal - perhaps creating a spectrum that induces 4-5:1 of Herc and 1-2:1 of Cerces-to-BK could work out. It feels like a science lab at all times depending on your strains and conditions. But, that's also what's cool about NFTG ...that level of control versus just using a larger "macro" all in one thing. Sure, it's harder but perhaps the result can be worth the effort? Or it's lunacy...but still fun.

So far, the best I've ran was with Greenpoint Seeds. Their GG4xGG4 S1 is super tasty - gassy pine chocolate; was a super fun and strong cultivar; despite my best attempts to kill her...she still put out some yummy. Dawg Biscuits was good too - I'm hoping the cure improves the finish though - the taste I can't really put a finger on yet but she's super tasty and stinky. I'm really excited about the Slurricane #7 that is in flowering now (with the Grandpa Stash). I have a few other Greenpoint strains I'm hoping to pop down the line in my glacially-paced pheno hunt :) - Greezy and Sticky Icky. Only sort of drawback for Greenpoint is their photoperiods are 70-80+ days versus a lot of these earlier ones like the HSCs of the world. I'm hoping to try some more HSC strains and also Twenty20Mendo - A buddy did their "Glue Sniffer" one back over the summer and it was really impressive!

I've gotten a lot of mixed information over the years watching the ocg fam show. I want to know how you guys are foliar feeding your BK? What type of water are you using and how are you ph'ing it? So adding BK to distilled water drops the pH really low and I can't use Olympus up for foliar feeding BK so my only thought would be to add pH up. Or I could use my tap water and use Hades down if needed. What's my best option how do you guys do it?

I use RO and everytime I add just BK it always is 6.4ph. I haven’t checked the PH of my bk foliar in months. I guess I’m lucky. I’ve also heard PH isn’t as critical for foliar.

I added a quarter teaspoon to a quart of distilled water and the pH was around 5.

I just checked and when adding it to my tap water it comes out at but I wonder if there's a reaction to whatever is in my tap water. I also wonder if I get the right reading on my pH meter when measuring the pH in distilled water when there's barely anything in it. I have a blue lab meter.

Oh yeah I heard about mendo 2020 I think they are the ones putting out great autos right? Thought about running a couple autos outside and using them for charas lol might be fun.

Regarding the week 5 ca/mg issues…was that from using BK in veg? How long does that stuff facilitate the increased uptake for? I used it twice in veg on a couple plants then stopped…could that have created issues that become present in flower such as needing more mag and calcium or is it more like, instant? I admit I need to read more about it but seems everyone loves it when they get it figured out.

I found 3 seeds in an ounce of some excellent Blue Magoo I plan to grow, maybe next grow. Curious to see if that blueberry shows like it did in the bag. Right now I have a Sour Power from a bag of dank grapefruit and fuel growing. Saved them because the bud was some of the best I had last year or two. Few more weeks and I‘ll find out.

I have a dwc cloner and was wondering what I can use in it? Can I use any nectar nutrients like Zeus, Poseidon, slf 100? If not what could I use that will be compatible?

This is going to be my first time taking clones and I really wanna put this Rdwc cloner to use. There's no air stones in it more like tubes that release a bunch of bubbles evenly. My question is how do I use this with nectar? How do I go about getting my clones to root using things that will be compatible with nectar. I feel like if I used anything synthetic or salt based nitrates for the clones they probably wouldn't like it when transplanting into number four and using nectar nutrients. I know i can use slf 100 and maybe microbe life nourish for humic acid or zues maybe some Poseidon for the kelp? Idk Any advice would be much appreciated. I figure if I want to step my game up I got to start taking clones.

I take it bubba that the thumbs up means you agree? Grow shop guy said photo plus maybe too or microbe life nourish that I have. Really people have been saying that you really don't need much of anything in a cloner and even if it is synthetic it's only just to get a few roots and they won't freak out when putting them into number four.

I guess Mammoth p can be used in a cloner too. I'll play around with the thing I'm going to be taking a lot of clones so by the end of this run I should be a pro. This is probably a stupid question but when I take my clones and I dip them in rooting hormone gel and then stick them in the cloner do I put the tip of the clone that has the gel on it inside the water or just above the water? I feel like if you dip it in the gel then stick it in the water the gel is going to get washed off right away.

opps .. forgot to respond ..lol… see if this helps…. I keep it simple and use root plugs for clones and seedlings … replace some of the Bigfoot with dynomycro on transplant.9876D571-CD05-4143-AAA9-0E2F6D2B8A1D.jpeg

yes and no…. Some gel will stay on, some will get mix in with water … and I would put it just above the water ..
