Next Year's Strategy

So...another good season, but it is time to start planning for 2010. This year was a close call due to early cold snaps and juggling indoors-to-outdoors (and vice-versa) was a pain...not to mention disruptive.

Our gardens get TONS of mountain sun early in the season and through August...then we loose lots of light and temps drop way down.

FYI...We grow organically in tall 5-gallon nursery pots from feminized seed. The seedlings are started indoors under CFLs and then gradually hardened outdoors.

My question...

I want to start the seeds & greenhouse in April...veg for 40-45 days...put them in my old grow tent for 24-36hrs of total darkness to induce flowering...and then but them back in their greenhouse to flower for 50-60 days.

This should get me to a harvest time of sometime in August....right? Any flaws in my plan?

Let me know your thoughts guys...

the light cycle in august is more than 12/12 as you know plants need to have a 12/12 light cycle to flower, as august is not good for that unless you are going to cover them to acceive this.

one point i have is the plants won't flower unless they are sexually mature enough, alot of people say go on ahead and flower them they are on their 5th node.
this is wrong.for instence i have an 8 miles high seed i planted alittle over 4 weeks ago and she is on her 9th node but a preflower showed up on her 8th.now i started her from a seed and got her to sprout the next day.i put her under a 400w mh and a week later i added a 1000w hps and sho nuff a few weeks later i got to know it was in fact a she.now that's 1400 watts for 4 weeks to bring that honey to maturity.i had 7 other plants and that one showed first.i'm pushin up on week 5 and still nothing on the other plants.so my point is i don't beleive cfl can bring most mj to sexual maturity and i don't care how much dark hours you give'em.they will flower when they are sexually mature enough to and all you are doing is stressing the plants into being hermphordites. which in my opinion is a waste of time.that's my 2 cents.i've used floro's for seed starting and have found that's all they are good for. maybe rooting clones but to bring the plant to maturity is gonna take mother nature or way more powerful lamps than cfl.thems my words and i'll stick to'em. now if you start like 3 monthes before last frost and try what you are doing, maybe it might help but i doubt it.my mj needs lot's of power to flower.but you never know i hope to create a family that will grow in the snow with lots of pink tricombs.peace and get luck to all your grows.
