Next Generation Dynamite/First Grow

Hello Everyone,

I started a thread in the new grower's section but realized that since I plan to update this frequently I might as well attempt to complete a journal, right?

Anywho,

I am currently in the midst of my first grow. I have been visiting forums, reading books, and watching youtube videos for years before finally giving this a go. It wasn't until recently that I found out someone I knew was growing so I thought: why not me? Cannabis has been such a huge part of my life and is the only thing that has helped with my anxiety and depression so why not grow my own medicine? After enough research I ended up deciding on Next Generation's Dynamite for my first grow.

I started some seeds in late January and things have been going pretty good so far.

As you may notice, one disappeared. It was a male. This is a crime punishable by death. Being a dictator, I felt that an execution was necessary. It was a slow and painful death.

Oddly enough, two of my plants have shown pre-flowers. One is a female and the other was the male mentioned before. The other two have no signs of sex. Is it common for plants that started at the same time to show signs of maturity at different times?

And these last two were taken today.

I was away for the weekend and couldn't believe how much they had grown in just two days. I purchased another 7x7 pot because one of the 3 was still in a 5x5. I honestly planned for the 7x7 to be the final size for these plants (the plan is to keep 1 or 2 mothers). Is that too small of a pot size for a fully mature mother plant?

I hope to hear from you guys/girls soon!

Well, I went to the store to pick up some 8x8x8 pots today and the volume difference in comparison to the 7x7 is quite large. Hopefully these will be big enough!

Time for an update!

You may also notice that there are only two plants in the first photo. That's because I was able to determine the sex of all 3 and they all happened to be female. My tent is too small for 3 mother plants so I placed the last one in the flowering tent under a 600w bulb.

Not really sure what to do about the root growth. I went from a 5x5 to a 7x7 and then an 8x8x10. there is a lot of room in the 8x8x10 for root growth but they just keep finding their way to the bottom. Any suggestions or is this normal and it's just something I'll have to deal with?

How's she looking to you guys?

Also, now that they've shown their sex can I start taking cuttings or should I wait for them to mature more?

The root growth is normal and pretty harmless.I think you will be fine to take a couple cuttings.Take care of your plants and back to practicing those arpeggios!

Awesome. Thank you for your response! And funny enough, arpeggios are my specialty. I'm much faster at sweep picking than I am alternate picking!

Hello everyone! Just putting in some work today and decided to snap a couple of pictures along the way.

How're those roots looking for you guys?

I also took my first cuttings yesterday. I made this little DIY bubble cloner. Hopefully it does the job. Any input on it would be appreciated!

Hey everyone,

I haven't forgotten about this thread I've just been very busy with school/work. Also, my township requires an annual inspection of all rental units (I did not know this) so I had to tear everything down and temporarily move it. In the process, I made the decision to kill the plant in flower since it was never part of the plan and would make moving everything a little easier. So right now, I just have the two plants in veg and a couple of cuttings sitting in a bubble cloner and I'm just waiting/hoping for them to show some roots. That sums it up for now!

Some pictures for the weekly update.

Here are my cuttings in my diy bubble cloner.

My mother plants were getting insanely large. More than I needed them to be so I did some pruning. Here they are post pruning.

Just wanted to share this because I thought it was so cool. This was the root mass of the plant was in the flower tent that I decided to kill.

I shall post another update on Sunday/Monday!

I forgot I started this one. I'd like to try to finish what I started so here are some pics for an update

Starting to show some roots. About another week and 4 of them will be going in the flower tent. The one in the top right corner was actually placed in there 4 days ago and is beginning to root. It was about the same time I changed some things in the water so next run I'll see if it makes a difference.
