Newly cut clones?

Have a quick question for the expierenced clone cutters out there. I am getting ready to cut clones and will be putting them in a " little greenhouse effect dome". My question to you guys would be...is it best to keep them in the dark for 24 hours after being freshly cut? Also after the dark period would it be best to keep them under a cfl 150 watts for 24 hours day or continue under the 18/6 light schedule? Thank you very much I appreciate all and any input.

No do not put them in the dark right away. Id run them under 18/6 schedule but 24hr is fine to. Your looking to make condensation from the light and its heat build up in the dome.

okay thank you for the input. My grow room has a 1000 watter and 600 watt. Would be okay to put this dome to very edge of the grow room where there is no direct light but just the room itself is lit up? would it be enough to get them going or do they need a light directly over them?

I also have a MH 400 watt that I am not using. I relize that'd it be way too much light so I wont be putting it to use. I could run down to the store and get a regular cfl bulb to use until they root if this will be enough for the entire dome?

I am using clonex liquid. Do I have water the cubes before putting the freshly dipped clone into the cube? From there Do I water the clones or do I leave clone and mist the tops until it creates roots?

Whoever can answer all the question I will greatly appreciate. I am getting old and you young bucks seem to be able to answer all the proffesional questions that are needed. Thanks much yall

I soak my rockwool in 6.0ph water.
Put in clone dome and leave alone. I don't water till roots pop out. That's just me I found out too much water cause slow root growth so I quit giving any additional water. And roots are ready now with in 5-7 days.

Never keep clones in dark. They will wilt

Dont mist the leaves. Inside the dome should be humid enough to keep them hydrated while they root. If you dont see any fog on the dome, you can lightly spray the inside of the dome itself with water, but you dont want standing water on the leaves because theyll rot.

40w cfl 2-3 inches away from the dome and do NoT spray directly on the leafs unless u r using root stimulator. New cuts need low light to form a nice strong roots. Happy grow

I clone under a 600mh about 5 ft away, used all different flourecents in there own clone room but found it easier in long run to just clone in veg room. As long as the dome is full of condensation you will be fine. Here is what i do and its super simple and works everytime. I take a transparent plastic cup about 12oz and put about 1.5 inches of Promix in it. Wet it decently and poke a hole with a pen all the way down in the middle in it. Take your clone and dip it in what ever cloning stuff you got, I prefer powder and stick in hole. Gently fill hole around clone, water should come out the bottom holes at this point if watered correctly. Now take a sandwich baggie and a rubber band and stick it over the cup so there is a couple inch plastic dome over it. Stick under any light but make sure close enough for condensation if using flourecents but Metal halides can work much farther away. Take bag off everyday and exchange air, NO spraying. Do this everyday until you see roots. Once you see roots start a small hole in top of bag and ever day make it bigger until its ready for no bag.

I clone with cheap ass t5 lights in a 3x3 tent.. All I do is her a cup of normal tap water, cut your cutting and place it in the cup of water. Do that with all cuttings. When done, strip the bottom inch or two. Make another cut, dip in gel and I place in coco. I water the coco prior to putting the clone in. Water the coco every 2-3 days I'm sure you could wait longer too.

not true, mine are day 7 right now, covered them with a blanked day 1 and 2.....two days of dark they stood up and praised.

Clones only need ambient light....lot of ppl fuck up giving clones too much light, makes them eat themselves imho.

My humidty level is at %60 in the dome. Although there is no condesntion on the dome so I tend to mist every morning in the begining of the day. Is this too much?
