Newby LED Micro Grow, W/3-HSS PF-1600's

The veg.cabinet has the mother that I'm keeping. I've been doing some LST'ing on her to maximize the nice cloning sites and, to keep the height down in this tiny cabinet. The other two are the ones my spouse got into pre-mature flower, and now they are somewhat stunted and growing weird.

And finally, I dug out an old bubbler I had kickin' around, and have another generation of clones in, about three day old now. They are in tapwater PHed down to 5.5, and get a foliar feeding once per day. The air pump is 24hr, and the flouro-lights are 18 and 6.

With the aroma increasing with the flowers maturing, I needed to address the smell permiating throughout my house. I built a homemade air-scrubber for less than 50 dollars, which is working incredibly well. I bought a plastic tub ($7:00), and a used fan at the flea market ($3:00), and a large quantity of activated carbon, with nylon socks at the pet store ($25:00), and put it together to look like this;

The thing works amazing, it eliminates the smell completely in the 25'x15' room this is all in. It has been my past experience that it will last about a year, then need the medium replaced.

The cuts in the tub I made with the dremel, and that is the important part, not just holes, as this breaks any laminar flow tendacies and forces lots of distubed air through the carbon array.

Whew, what a week...............................battling pests, plant un-happiness, etc.......................

I did get my TDS meter in the mail a few days ago;

IMG_0214.jpg

It showed that my tapwater had 41ppm from the begining, and allowed me to dial in a feeding mix at 950ppm. I have the food mixed and will introduce it in about three days when I anticipate the next feeding to occur. I am glad to have this tool, because my water goes for shit every spring during run-off, I will be able to identify when this happens, and make other arrangements for water source.

The next batch of flowering girls look good today, I think they are at 12days of 12/12;

The first batch of girls look good also, but have been through a bit of an ordeal. I noticed some fungus gnat activity last week, so I gave them a couple of extra days of drying out. During this time spider mites launched an offensive. I hit them hard with a spray mix of dish soap and iso, then have been hitting them daily with a light soap mix. This has caused the mites to abate, don't see any now.

I found that the first gen. flowering were just too leafy/dense, I conducted a significant defoliation on the four, acouple of days ago. They still look great, and I bet you wouldn't notice if I hadn't of told you, and hey, today marks the first sign of frost;

So I remain super pleased with the results I've garnered so far, and can't wait for the first four girls to mature. Today I took and early quality assurance sample, when its dry I'll let you all know how it's working out;

Okay ladies and gentlemen, time for this weeks status update;

The bubbler is bubbling, and I can say with assurity today that I've successfuly cloned this strain of MJ.

Inside the veg. cabinet, you see the mother plant, the two early flower weird plants that are finnally coming around, and the rooted clones that are scheduled to go into the flower room in three weeks time.

So the flower room is looking absolutely stunning this week. The pest problems are behind me, and some additional nutrient regimes are garnering very positive results. Four of these plants are at 4 weeks, two are at 2 weeks, have a look;

I mentioned last week that a sample was taken, it was subsequently used by myself and spouse, and gifted to two others to test who are regular users. It set us all on our collective asses, wholly, I'm not a regular user but go on and off, my spouse is for med. reasons, the other two are daily recreational users. The two regular users actually complained that it is just too strong, my spouse says its good, but should be reserved for nightime use, and I think it altered my mind. This is a pic of the sample in question;

In conclusion this week, I report massive trich production. Under the scope, 20% milky can be seen, as well as the odd amber one already. By the time these plants reach maturity, its going to be some really crazy shit!!!!

This week I will have to take one plant and early harvest to make room for the next two scheduled to into flower. I am on track to my goal of producing perpetually, two plants every other week...............rock-on!!!!!!!!

Thanks Pitts-fan, I think its something that will work for us long term....................

The gentic advancements are becoming evident also since the last time I grew. In the day it was Skunk#1, from Holland, and at this stage with 30 plants back then, I remember the whole block smelled like a skunk......................
