Newb's Own First Grow - AK-47s

I just read this whole thread in one sitting!! Usually I just lurk and learn (although I'm new to RIU) but I had to pipe up (pardon the pun), and let you know that I'm on the edge of my seat!

Can't wait to see what happens, good luck to you and your girls!! You've got a lot of guts to stick it out through the tough stuff, that's for sure!!

(pre)SMOKE REPORT!
So today ive popped a couple 'micro buds' into my chillum. I got high! Though it wasn't the best... Still smelled a bit green, but smelled better once I broke it up. Deffinently a 'head high'... Most of the trichs were clear or cloudy... Also didn't last very long...

So given these buds were premature and very small and not very dry... I was veryhappy!! Can't wait for me to try the real thing

I do believe we have the same bud! hahaha

We are both on the edge of our pot seats!

I should have half my equipment reflective material and fem supergirl seeds etc... arriving tomorrow and will be starting a thread as i am going to be starting my first grow shortly, i am going to send a friend request to some of u guys as u seem really nice and helpful man, different from the not so nice people i have met in chat.

I will be doing a journal thingy ma bob the same as leggo with pics showing stages of my cupboard growroom getting built while other stuff is arriving, with list of equipment i will be using etc...

I am going to keep an eye on this post it has been a great read and great to see that the plants some thought werent going to do good have turned into beasts lol

it will inspire me to stick at it if my plants dont look so good at times

Cant wait to see the finished product and how much bud u get after drying and curing man hope it is a good weight for u and an awesome smoke

Leggo, I don't think you'll need to flush them for very long, being hydro and all. I know soil growers are supposed to flush for two weeks but it takes two or three waterings just to flush all the nutes out of the medium for them. I grow soiless and I flush for 5 days max. I know what unflushed bud smokes like (chem taste and sparking and crackling from heavy metals still in the bud) and mine has none of that. With true hydro I think you would need only the same or even shorter time. Maybe DL can weigh in here. I just know I like to feed as long as possible not only to provide nutrients for bud production but also because hungry plants (plants being flushed) are weak and more susceptible to mold and other problems.

Hey Mared!! Yeah I'm getting more and more open to letting my nutes go a little longer...

I MAY flush this weekend, who knows. Right now I've just been adding a little Flora Bloom every once and awhile, keeping the same res... with the idea the plants will slowly use up the nutes in the res, and I can hold out on flush a little longer as the res becomes less and less 'nuty' LOL

I kinda think (and I really havent mentioned this at all) I may have some nute lock up anyway :-/ this would make flush easier right?? Since they may not be drinking as many nutes as they should??

hey eggo not been on here in a while but i was here way back when the haters where telling you too tear your shit down. glad too see you stick by your grow and brushing the negatives too one side you really proved them wrong. it may have taken you a little longer too get there but will all be worth it. you should think about a second set up for vegging, you could use cfl,s and would only need a small cupboard to veg 4 plants. when your plants have only 4 weeks flowering left you start the vegg room off. just means you get your next crop a month sooner.i am doing this myself at the moment because i dont have the space to do a complete sea of green but can just get 4 plants and a 250w enviro in this cupboard that i have. got myself big bang, himalayan gold and skunk no1 FLOWERING and white widow and blue cheese VEGGING.

anyway i hope your nugs are fat and stinky and get you fucked up bad rep+ for the patience

Day 51 of Flower:

GETTING CLOSE!!! Again, AK-47 should flower between 53-63 days, so I am the home stretch... unfortunately I dont think I'll have a big yield... lots of 'pop corn' buds all over.. this is likely because two of the three are hermies (though very little pollen sacs)... either way I'll be happy to smoke them all up. Though most trichs are clear... some cloudy, so maybe I got a bit of time left for these to fatten up??

They may not be big, but they sure are sticky and 'crystally'...

Thats all, think I may clear off a couple more lower branches that i didnt get to the other day and rape them of their 'micro buds'...

I'm thinking of choping the top of my indy. Are your girls smelling rather dank. Like a slight skunky smell when you squeeze them? GUESS WHAT!!! Not sure what the sativa I have is but it smells very fruity!!!! This happened when I turned off the fans and cleaned out the ionic. I went back into the room and BAM! The fruity smell hit me! I must investigate this!

Great job! Your finishing off very nicely. I know your a little upset with the bud mass. But hey, what you've learned through this exsperence is worth more than those missing grams. But I do guarantee you this. Put this much effort with some top quality seed's ( preferablyabout:blank# from a seed bank ) and all your hard work will definitely have a bigger & better pay off at the end. Keep in mind, it has alot to do with genetics, as you learned with the hermie bloodline situation. So before you start your next grow think about forking out a few bucks for some good shit. Trust me, you wont regret it in the end.

Smoke Report 2:
Yesterday I did clear off some more tiny buds at the bottoms, trimmed them like before, and fast-dried about half in the microwave this time. They were also a bit 'leafy"... i tried to get the most i could LOL

The fast-dry did make it taste really harsh, but i think it dried better than before (just laid it on paper for 2 days...) I got HIGH... still really a ' head high" but VERY high

ohhhhh I CAN NOT WAIT!! When I chop the big beauties, with all the trichs, not leafy, and matures, and dried...

this is gonna be some great smoke!!!
