image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg First time grow. Using 4' T5 HO fluorescent 4" from 4 plants, 18/6 light cycle. These guys are 2.5 weeks from seed. Planted in straight Organic Vigoro, which I've just come to realize is high in nutrients. Watering from tap twice a week typically when I get 1" of dry soil, & I'm not adding nutrients yet. Starting a week ago, the lower growth bagan to curl upwards and show what looked like burning or browning on the edges, eventually turning yellow and spreading, all 4 of them have this problem. Looking for tips to diagnose & fix this please.

I would say first off that 4" from the light might be too close. Back it off a bit and see if they respond.
I just finished my first grow and I had issues near the end that looked like yours. The yellowing leaves from the bottom look like a nitrogen deficiency from what I understand but your soil should have plenty. I'll wait for the experts to chime in.

Everything I've read said to keep my lights as close as possible. Using a quad 4' T5 HO ballast with 54W cool white tubes, 5400K I believe. Not much heat coming off of it. Initially I had the lights within 1-2" running 24 hours starting with seed, but switched to 18-6 6" away once I realized there was a problem...

Yeah I veg with t5s as well. I keep them that close or closer with no problems. It really looks like its water logged to me. Let the soil dry out and wait for it to feel light again. That 1 inch thing is really for when a plant has filled the whole container not for when the roots are small. Its the #1 mistake.

Thanks, I will let it dry out & then water once a week. Also, I bought an 8 lamp 4' T5 HO fluorescent with 2700K bulbs for flowering if I make it that far, will this be suitable? I'm really trying to keep the heat to a minimal...

Btw...you should wait every time to water until it feels light.

So 2 of 4 survived, also I started another one about 1 month later that I ordered from canadianseedbank. These seeds I ordered were feminized BC Kush, however 2 weeks into flowering I'm starting to wonder if it's a male plant. I'm seeing the "sacs" that look like seeds, which I'm not seeing on the other two plants (bag seeds from a stash). Too early to tell? What do you think?
