NEWBIES NEED HELP? smokinHerbOnDaCurb has all ansers!!!!!

i started to grow some seeds i had sittin around ant hey sprouted and then i put thyem in a big white styro container and put 1, 2ft plant and aquarium, 1,18inch cool white high output and 3,23watt cfls also cool white on them and they were growin good and then the bottom leaves started to turn yellow so i went on the forum and they said that the plants might need more nutes so i picked some up at the hydro storeand the plants immediately sarted to look better. the biggest plant is probably 8 inches tall and the smallest is3-4 inches they are in 4 inch around peat pots. im havin trouble with watering and my plants seem to be stunted. i cant seem to time the waterings properly because one second they are fine and the next they are all wilted, this cant be good for them to keep having to revive themselves, is there some kind of digital watering reminder or like a probe or sumthin idont know. oh ya and the plant havent grown much so im kinda concernedive had them for ahwile now so matybe im doin sumthin wrong. also i recently pick up a fixture and a 125 watt 6500k cfl, the one that fits the same size socket as the hps, this setup seems to be much better than the ghetto rig i had beforethere is probably 6 inches between the bulb and the plants so im going to go to home dpot and get afree standing white melamine (particle board with the white paint on it)cup board that is about 3 ft wide 16 inches dep and 6 ft tall and grow in there.what is the smallest size pot you can grow a pot plant in for the rest of its life.

What kind soil do i need to start sprouted seedlings? i dont plan to do soil all the way but just to start my seedlings as a alternative to rockwool method. Can i use Miracle Grow from Home depot? or do i have to make my own mix?

okay stupid question that i bet has been asked a milllion times...
Can seeds die? I just got mine in the mail about a week ago. And am not going to start the porcess for another week our too.
I have them in a small ziploc... Is that fine??

should be ok ive got a tin of seeds and they are still good after like years, ive heard they are good for up to 6 years. but im a newbie to this so correct me if im wrong anyone. oh ya those seeds all sprouted after like maybe four years of sittin, i just did some this year.

you can get any soil really but if you want them to grow well you should get some good soil, miracle grow usually has some fert. already in it so you wont have to fertilize for ahwile(im not sure how long) so if you do get miracle grow you might burn them if you add fertilizer to it too soon or get some soil with no fert in it.
i just mixed my own which isnt too hard and your plants are probably gonna grow better, i used a mix of organic potting soil with no fert, worm castings (which is the best thing for your plant), perlite, and a little bit of vermiculite. i dont know the ratio for the mix i mde but i just put some in a pot and made sure it had good drainage and that it wasnt too muddy before planting anything.
once again im not a pro so if my shit is a little off somebody can correct me but this might help you.

I just started growing 2 clones of Jack the ripper. My grow box is tall and skinny and jack the ripper, I believe, grows tall and skinny. I am doing a clf grow. Right now i am using 4 cfl 2 light white and 2 warm white 2. They are on their 2nd week now and really growing nice. (I think...first time) Do you think those 4 cfls are good for this first stage of growing (veg).
I was keeping them on a 12/12 for the first week then I started reading in the forums that I should be using 16/8. So I am switching to 16/8 now.

the warm white cfls say 1650 lumens each
and the light white - 900 lumens each

5,100 total lumens

any tips?

i got my worm castings from home depot and it was mixed already with a bit of soil but it just turns to mud if you dont ad more soil and perlite. good luck

you can get a whole box 12 of these emergency mylar blankets on ebay for 15 bucks,... I get wall paper glue at home depot and just glue them to the walls like wall papre

Hey bro I need some help again. I veg'd my plants for 8 wks and now they are too tall. I got a bit of bad advice and now I'm in a jam. These plants are mainly bubbelicious(Indica) and are supposed to be relatively short plants so I didn't think they would get too tall. I have read a little about SCROG and I would like to use this method but I need to know what to do at this point to keep my plants from touching the lights in the flowering room which has the same ceiling height as the veg room. Please help.

Got another Q bro. I have been flowering now for 2 weeks and my plants dont really have any smell. They stunk ore when veggin. LOL Is that normal

im doin my first grow and im a week into flowering and im gettin balls at the tops of a few of them r they def males if they have balls on top... a sad day in growing lol

I am having trouble getting my first girls to bud. I have been trying for 2 weeks. I have left the light off a few times for 36 hours. I am now trying 12 on and 12 off. Any suggestions?
