So from what i've read so far for a basic grow room i need Heat/lights, soil, pots, fans to osilate the air and plant food for proper fertilization, anything else im missing for the basics? the room im growing in is realativly small probably 8'x8' How much light do plants need a day 8 hours? or 24 hours? and one last question for the moment when do i transfer my plant from the plastic cup in the kitchen to the grow room in the basement? after it gets its first 5 leafs i transplant it right?

okay, here the pix. i hope they work. theres a few diffrent problems i think, pests and nutes. but id love some insight.


i took most of the alum foil off the walls and expanded the grow room. theres 5 lights,(1 65wt cfl,1 23wt cfl, 2 sylvannia plant gro 120wt, and a reveal full spect 100wt. theres also 2 4ft fl tube fixtures for the sprouts sine i just made a new batch.

there is two fans, one pointing on them and one moving around, the space is 23in deep and 6ft long. its in my closet and theres lots of space for them to grow upward.



uh.... i put superthrive on a few plants just as a test run.


anything i should change?

Looks like they need nutrients to me. Are you using any nutes... or are there any in the soil?

getting ready to start a flood and drain and was wondering how many plants i could harvest with this set up.i have a 2'x4' table, a 400 mh\hps light.15 gallon res, rockwool with pots. whats the best number of plants without crowding the other out?

i stopped using nutes a few days ago when i transplanted them.
ive just been watering them since. they are about 3.5 weeks old.


what about the one with the hole in its leaf tho?
thats not a pest hun?

I would say 6-10 But you can alwys trim a few leaves for some plants to get light not too many though.

Thanks for the answers herb, Ill be starting my grow pretty soon now. I was wondering what can I do to control the smell? My grow will be in a PC grow box doing LST, the walls are sealed up with plastic and taped down with duct tape then mylar paper on the top of the plastic. Since Ill have a 80mm fan for exhaust what can I put on top of the fan to control the smell? Ill only be growing 1 plant right now and doing LST and keeping the lights low to keep the plant smaller. Im looking for a cheap way to filter the air, Ive seen carbon filters but is there any other way?

It os probably nute burn dont feed it for a while . Those brown spots worry me go look at a diagnosis manual on google type in marijuana plant problem diagnosis there should be guides. brown spots can mean multiple resons or it could be only one.

ive been given a 250w mh light (bulbs not clear its kinda a misty white) in a enclousre with reflector and glass all built in the unit. im shortly going to be growing 4 lowryder 2's.
My question is would i get a better yield from 2 125w envirolites or with my mh because from what ive read the mh is only really any good for veg?
any help much appreciated.

You can keep the metal hailides for veg they are best veg lights. Switch to a warmer redish,orange light for flowering. Keep the metal hialide they are nice. Given??? Lucky
