Newbies first (CFL) Grow! Killing Feilds- would love pointers and Q+A!!

Hello, right now I am on the very first of most important steps...germinating, baha!
I've left two lil fem babies sealed in a tupperware container nestled between damp paper towels since 11am today. They haven't sprouted yet, but they're staying warm at a safe distance from a small heater.
This is my first grow, so this round is more of a learning experience. I feel comfortable starting with 2 plants, that way if I fuck up miserably it won't be a terrible loss.
BTW about my setup, it's just kind of a ghetto closet grow, haha. using 12 23w soft whites and MG regular plant soil. I may or may not buy fox farm nutes, still undecided.
I will of course update as it happens, and have their newborn pictures soon!



I also wanted to ask, what's your biggest CFL yield been? per plant preferably. What was your set up like?

Well, welcome to growing. I havent been on this site for too long, but have a few grows under my belt. I mostly do outdoors, but this year I am doing an indoor as well. Last year I had a cfl grow with 1 68watt, 2 42watts, and a few 26watters. This was mostly during veg, and they grew nice and plump. When I flowered them I only got about 2 weeks in until I had to abort, becuase certain people found out and told other people and long story short, I got fucked over . When they did start flowering, I had many bud sites and it was looking fantastic! If they had kept going, I wouldn't have been surprised if I got and ounce off each plant(2 plants). Im just starting my grow for this year, and I wish the best of luck to you!

In the description for this particular strain from the seed bank I bought them from, it says up to 700g yield. I'm assuming that's per plant, so I wanted to know is this realistic? If I take real care of it, invest in some fox farm nutes, and get a lot of lighting? As well as giving her all the time she needs. What IS realistic?

That 700g per plant is pretty unrealistic. The only way to acheive that is through experience, HID lighting(lots of it), perfect conditions, and lots of veg time. 700g outdoors is still a very high estimate

no that 700g is more than likely per meter squared, and with CFLs you will need ALOT to achieve this

The girls have popped! I feel like a proud new parent. They've been under their lights since 6pm yesterday, they haven't sprouted from the soil quite yet, but I'm trying to let them be and not check on them all of the time, hehe. Will post pictures as soon as they rejoin the world!

Yes, an ounce is a much more realistic goal, wish you the best!
